My little cousin was born from an abortion procedure. My 15 yr old cousin, was 5 months pregnant, when her grandmother noticed her weight gain. She gave her a home pregnancy test and it came back positive. Her grandmother working as a nurse, gave her a pill to abort. Remember she was 5 months along. She had a tiny 1lb baby girl. The baby survived (is now in her 30's). My cousin was able to keep her daughter (was a good mom at 15) and today they are closer than sisters. PS My cousin forgave her grandmother. God is great.

What an incredible story. I'm so glad they were able to find one another and reconcile. I got pregnant at 18 and while my parents were disappointed, they were also pro-life and supported me which I'm so grateful for. I married the father of my baby, went on to have two more children, am now pregnant with my 4th and still married going on 21 years. Things work out. A baby is not the end of the world.

My mother had a saline induced abortion in 1976. She told me the story when I was 18 years old. My mom was divorced from my father, who she had two children with, myself and my brother. She got pregnant by her boyfriend and she told me that my grandparents made her get the abortion because they were afraid of what their neighbors would think. I’m not sure if that part was true. But my mom told me in detail that once the saline was instilled into her uterus, the nurses put her on a bedpan and left her alone in a room to expel the fetus in a bedpan. She saw the fully formed female fetus in the bedpan and was alone with her for a long time before the nurses came back. This affected my mom so adversely for the rest of her life. She kind of lost her mind when she went through menopause. We no longer have a relationship and I miss her so much in my life. I am 57 now and my mom is 77. She’s still alive and I wonder how much time we have left to speak again.

I understand the reason, that you were scared. But Before the abortion, you have to talk to somebody- at least in Germany you have to. Why did those people not take the fear away from you, saying: „we understand your fear. But we will help you and support you in every step during pregnancy and afterwards if you want. If you want to keep the baby, we will support and help you every single day. If you do not want to keep it, we have a lot of beautiful familys, who desperately want a baby to care for it and love it. There is no reason, to end a life and feel like a murderer for the rest of your life….“

As someone who was forced to have an abortion at 14 (I was 22 weeks), I was terrified. So terrified that I went into labor the night before and delivered my son in the bathroom at the clinic. Medical professionals rushed in after I pulled the emergency cord. They cut my sons cord and placed him in a wide container. Then rushed me off to the room to perform a procedure. I woke up, which felt like minutes later. I stared at the wall my bed was pushed up against and a doctor walked up to me with tears in his eyes and asked me if I was okay. I wasn't and he knew. Still to this day seeing my son gasp for air.... I don't know if he could have been saved or if he was. I have for 22 years looked through crowd not knowing if he is out there....

I had something sort of similar to Ruth. I got pregnant and overheard my step mother and my aunt planning on giving me drugs to get me to miscarry. I found out so that did not happen, but I did lose the baby just days after I got married. That was almost 48 years ago. In the back of my mind I always wondered if they had giving me something. I was reminded even at our wedding about our sin at from our pastor during the ceremony. However, there were so many that were good to me. My aunt and my step mom have been long gone. I went on to have three daughters and have 8 grandchildren but I forever miss my first one that I know is in heaven. As for the others.. it is up to the Lord. Only he knows what went on. My stepmom and I healed and I forgive her. All we can do is forgive. As Jesus said on the cross, they know not what they do. The forgiveness is between them and the Lord.. but since they are there in heaven their sin was covered.

I was forced to abort my 14 week old unborn baby in 1977. My baby lived for fifteen minutes between the first procedure and the second, mortally wounded, my baby turned and turned. It took me ten years to find words to describe, it felt like a spaghetti spoon was wrapped around my insides. I live with the six words they said, "We didn't get all the parts!" I thought "What parts! Arms and Legs." I shut down emotionally for ten years. But in 1979 l didn't know l was pregnant, l was laying on my stomach, watching TV when all of a sudden I felt tiny feet kicking me so fast. I sat up and put my fingers on the spot. My fingers were pressing on my upper right groin area. I wouldn't go to the doctor for seven months. I thought they would tell me, "You can't carry a baby there. By the Grace of God, He help me carry my son in a displaced position. My son grew the whole nine months on my pelvic floor. I still have problems walking today. I tell him, how special he is. He feels bad about my legs, but l would do it all over again. I would never have had another abortion!!!

But I walked away from another abortion because of Christ and His love for my baby and me. I'm 61 now and my mom has hated me my whole life, and when I had my daughter, she hated her too and has made sure we are not in her life. My daughter is amazing (a doctor now) and a treasure from the Lord. I worked as a prolific counselor for 7 years. I spoke with so very many women who suffered from their abortions. Abortions don’t just kill babies they greatly harm women. They cause infertility due to blocked felopian tubes and scarring on the endometrium (uterine lining.) Those women have failed relationships. After all, men might financially support the decision, and even hold their partners hand, but it’s she who has to sign the papers to tell the doctor to kill her baby. That causes soul damage. I never counseled anyone who didn’t agree that it is what hurts most. Men or mothers who push for the abortion are wanting a better future. But abortion harms women, physically, psychologically and spiritually. Every woman I worked with acknowledged she thought about her abortion and her baby every day. That is significant.

In '84, when I was 20, I had been under intense pressure from all who knew I was pregnant to abort my child, but I did not due to my knowledge of the fact that I was carrying a human being who had a right to their own life. Had I any less conviction, I could very well have been swallowed up from the pressure and longing for the lies to be truth. 15 months after she was born my daughter died in a freak accident involving her crib. Years later in one of my moments of grief which hits parents who have lost their children at points all throughout their lives after, it dawned on my that she could have been dead not from a freak accident, but because I had 'exercised my right to an abortion'. Almost immediately I was being swallowed up by a pit so deep, so dark, so despairing that I cried out to God to bring me out, for I could not do so on my own. I had this mere glimpse which lasted no more then 3 seconds and I will now for the rest of my life sorrow for all women who suffer an abortion and wake up to the lies they were fed which led them to it. I also sorrow for women like Ms. Ohden's birth mother who had no choice in the matter. My heart aches for them. May God hold them close. May God bring women who made such a choice and live in denial of the truth to the hope and healing that comes from repentance, and the freedom that comes from accepting the truth. May God give them strength to walk the walk they must in order to come fully back to Life. Thank you Abortion Survivors Network for this and all your other videos. Thank you Ms. Ohden for your beautiful, needed voice. And thank you Ruth for your testimony. I am so glad you were able to know the truth and have the joy that you surely must feel. I cannot even begin to fathom that moment you heard the news, the roller coaster that no doubt you felt as you absorbed the the fact that your daughter was alive and the influx of emotions and realizations that surely came with it. Wow. xoxo

@@FourSeasons04 Ruth and her twin sister Mary were unwanted from before they were born and were treated with severe verbal abuse throughout their entire childhood. A childhood like that damages a person in ways that aren't seen on the outside. She held such power over Ruth that she couldn't fight her. Obviously she was a powerful woman outside the family also since she threatened all the hospital staff to not acknowledge the living baby right in front of them. Plus she wrote up the adoption paperwork with help from someone in the judicial/legal area of the town. If she could push these people around or cajole them to keep all of this out of sight, how could Ruth possibly do so? She was raised in this chaos, so to her, it was normal. She hated it, but she saw no other option.

It bothers me that your birth “mom” call the failed murder a “procedure”!!!! I came from a severely abusive home, got pregnant at 18 with my boyfriend/fiancé of 2 years. He left me and my family abandoned me because I was a Shame to the family. But I kept my baby, and that was in the mid 70s. An abortion is NOT just a “procedure “!

Thank you for sharing, Kathy H. That took a lot of courage. And you’re right that the procedure is much more than that. Sometimes some things are too difficult emotionally for some to speak of more explicitly, though. I have heard Melissa share that the medical records they have together uncovered since then suggest there came a point that there was a fear of Ruth dying too, so the whole thing was probably very traumatic and difficult to speak of.

I can tell by your words that you suffered greatly during that time of your pregnancy and what it took to keep your baby. The pain of being unsupported by your family and the baby’s father is still raw, even years later. Understandably so. I hope that the day will come when young women accept the truth that sexual intercourse can produce a pregnancy. As the female, you will be the one who has to make the hard choices, do the hard work.

Kathy, I'm so sorry that you had absolutely no support when you became pregnant. You are a strong and amazing woman and mother! And you are absolutely right, an @bortion is NOT just a "procedure." I am sure you are very glad that you didn't choose to @bort your baby and you have no regrets. like the women who, for whatever reason couldn't withstand the pressure put upon them. Do you have any grandchildren yet? But the @bortion industry along with their cohorts in the media, big tech and government like to use euphemisms to make it sound like it's no big deal, it's not a baby, just a clump of cells, etc. That way they can charge a huge amount of money to help a woman "get rid of the problem" as they so put it. If they have problems post @bortion, that's too bad. They got their money so don't bother them any more. In this case, Ruth's "mother" was a nurse at the hospital where she took Ruth to have the "procedure" which is what her mother called it so no one would know that there was ever a baby at all. Obviously her "mother" had people in places that could pull strings to have the baby (Melissa) disappear. Since it took Ruth 5 DAYS to finally have her baby, she obviously was severely injured. I'm gathering from the way Ruth talked , that it wouldn't have been a loss to her "mother "if Ruth herself had died. To leave a woman in labor for 5 DAYS with no attention at all from the hospital staff, says to me that Ruth's mother had the power to make everyone's life unbearable if they ever crossed her.

I'm so happy that she survived. I did found it so interesting though that the mom said she didn't believe in God back then... And she was like: Where is he? I think that's often the problem. People themselves make mistakes and then they blame God. She was the one who had sex before marriage, she was the one who let the abortion happen and then ask: where is God? Just think it is very typical that people often blame God but don't take responsibility themselves. Well, I'm glad that her daughter survived... She has a very big heart to forgive. That is admirable. I know this is definitely a quality I have to work on myself... But trying to improve.

Jesus is relationship as father to a son, it's not religion, religion makes you do stuff that it doesn't deal with sin and heart condition, so we just confessing tree in life with no real fruit. Surrender to Jesus not religion, that's why devil created so many religions and even religious leaders killed Jesus(but He risen) from hatred! Thank You Father for Jesus and thank You Jesus for Holy Spirit!! And thank You Lord for this incredible testimony, Melissa, is so sincere, so pure and so powerful, may You have all the Glory Jesus!!

In some households (I have a hard time calling them families with such severe abuse) the only way to survive is to acquiesce to whatever demands are put upon you. You are nothing in their eyes and never will be. The only value they give you is whatever you are worth in the moment. This particular family was adamant that their good reputation was tantamount so they would do whatever was necessary to keep it that way, even to the point of killing a wanted child and threatening anyone who would mention the child at all. Imagine the Hell Ruth and her sister Mary lived through to have a mother and father that would literally kill to keep their reputation intact.
