An Indian brand (that we sometimes consider a little bit of a copy/rip off of a similarly styled American brand) being reviewed by you Melissa is just amazing. I will say that their products definitely live up to what they claim. & Is the affordable alternative for most Indians. Thanks for including our homegrown local brand in your reviews 💗
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
Well, many brands are similar or even owned by the same shareholders, ultimately leading to the same outcome. Still, I think you are referring to The Ordinary, which is Canadian. So they may be connected in some way 😉. But generally, I like that these brands are bringing prices down, which should be the way to go. It cannot be that companies charge several hundred dollars for a skincare product worth a few cents in production costs, even if they have lots of marketing involved. That is just a rip-off for the customer. So I like the way they go; they are mostly transparent about what they do, and I hope they will expand to other countries too.

Hi,for the past year I started to do double cleanse for remove my spf. And ı was wondering that do we need to use oil cleanser for all sunscreen or we can just use water based cleanser when we are wearing spf which doesnt have water resistant
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
You can use a 'normal' cleanser to remove your sunscreen. You do not necessarily need to do a double cleanse if your regular cleanser can take it off properly. Only double-cleanse if your regular cleanser isn't able to break it down. In that case, use either an oil or balm cleanser as your first cleanser before using a water-based cleanser.

Is it ok to use this salicylic acid cleanser twice a day? Wont it be harmful to the skin as it can overstrip our skin and make it worse? I can not have two cleansers for day and night, that is why I am confused. Please give advice on this.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet3 ай бұрын
This depends on your skin's tolerance and how well it responds to the cleanser. It could work; however, it may also become too drying or irritating for your skin over time. Alternatively, you can simply wash your face with water in the morning. :)

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet10 ай бұрын
Hey! 😊 Is this your first time using a Salicylic Acid-based cleanser? You could try using it less often, alternating between that one and a non-Salicylic Acid cleanser so your skin has time to adjust. Alternatively, if you're reacting to an ingredient in the formulation or if the strength of the Salicylic Acid is too potent for your skin, you may need to switch to a different cleanser.

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
Based on my assumption that you have oily skin and acne, the 2% salicylic acid Minimalist cleanser would be the most suitable option. Additionally, you could alternate with the Cetaphil Daily Facial cleanser, also known as Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser in India. This approach ensures that you do not over-dry the skin while still reaping all the benefits.

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
Well, you could try their Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin C, Niacinamide or Tranexamic Acid as those are brightening products. Otherwise, look into Exfoliating Acids like Glycolic Acid or their AHA + BHA Exfoliant or a Retinol - such treatments help to exfoliate the skin/to renew the skin and therefore you can see a reduction in hyperpigmentation overtime :)
