Third Age: Divide and Conquer TimeLapse (A.I. Only Total War)

Greetings fellow earthlings and welcome to a Time-lapse for Divide on Conquer 2.2, a submod for Third Age Total War.
Third Age TW is a mod for Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms, based off of the Lord of the Rings Universe.
Will Good beat Evil and reclaim Middle Earth, or will it fall?
Which faction will come out best?
Gondor?
Mordor?
Or somebody else?

Did people like the little commentary bit I added at important events? Time lapses can get chaotic at times, so I basically told you what was best to look at. I was just experimenting with something new. I liked it. Really gave a bit of flavour to events, and you narrated it well. The tension as Barad-dur came under more and more pressure and the ring got closer and closer to home was palpable. I wouldn't have understood the significance of the climax at the end without you narrating what was happening.

Interesting one. Still think rhun is too strong. If you let away mordor they are the strongest late game faction in 9 of 10 times.

It's one of the only factions to have done well every single A.I. only playthrough. Rhun OP. : )

@@MelkorGG You need a miracle. 1 out of 50 campaigns or someting ridiculous erebor dale and dorwining do extremly well and push rhun so far back that they either take them out or hold them at 1 or 2 settlements. In the other 49 campaigns (unless you yourself kill them) they always go absolute nuts.

@@trollwayy5981 the trick is, if you are not playing in this area, to take 2 units and walk them over to sit on the bridges between dorwinion and rhun, so they cant kill dorwinion. Usually prevents rhun from doing well

Well, I've never before seen Khand survive after joining Good side. This must've taken a lot of time to make, 350 turns in a mod this big is no small task! A good one.

Khand struggled at first, but luckily for them Dol Amroth saved them by destroying most of Harad. And the Corsairs getting hit by regicide did not help Mordor also. In total, if interested, it took 12 hours to record and another 3-4 to edit and do the rest. : )

@@MelkorGG Phew, that's a lotta hours. Much appreciated though, I like seeing all kinds of scenarios happen on the map, but by playing myself I do still alter the result. That, and each playthrough just takes dozens of hours easily, never passed the 250 turn mark yet in DaC. I do hope to see Dorwinion rise to power over the pesky Easterlings on your channel in the future, haha. I guess they're very much similar to my ever favourite faction the Byzantines, and an underdog too. ps. Yeah, the important event narration was a nice touch.

Regicide for MVP of this campaign. It killed: Ar-Adunaim, Enedwaith, Harad, Isenguard and OOTMM. With the latter two usually being dominant when controlled by the AI. And while Harad and Enedwaith dying isn't unheard of, Ar-Adunaim were doing fairly well before just dying out of nowhere in the early game.

yeah regicide is what gave the free ppls the win. normally Dol amroth does well in the early game but once the ar adu have time to grow and the scripts hit dol amroth just collapses. once dol armoth starts losing territory, gondor begins a downwards slope as well. but here the dar adu died, disabling the scripts and lifting lots of pressure off dol amroth. allowing them to deal with harad, allowing for khan to focus on containing mordor and rhun. with the southern threat dealt with and mordor being attacked by khand, gondor has breathing room again and recaptures it's lost territory

It is very fitting that the sea-faring elves would expand along the coastline and that the wood elves would hide away in their secretive, impenetrable forest. Also, that Mordor would be brought down by an alliance. Great teamwork!

Very nice timelapse! I'd enjoy seeing more Divide and Conquer timelapses, this one was really interesting and quite intense! The little bit's of commentary you added for major events was a nice little touch aswell!

Free Peoples are too OP, Sauron should come back without Ring when Barad Dür is sieged but be weaker

Do you know if in this mods, you can change the scale?.Because in virtually all of the playthrough, campaigns and battles i have seen, they always play on scales over one hundred units, the infatry and like eighty units, the cavalry. It seems like a 50 50 in AI Onlys. Although it always seems to decide the game. When Khand fight Mrodor, Mordor falls, if not, then Gondor falls. : )
