The message of this game was so simple yet so powerful, I never thought a little boy in robes and a giant wizard hat would make me bawl like a baby, but here we are. I played this at the beginning of quarantine and it's now my favorite game for the story alone. It's a shame many people find the turn based jrpg genre boring and old, this game was so beautiful and so many would pass it up just because it's an old rpg. A remake would give this game a lot of needed love.

My mother loved this song. This and Eyes On Me. This song worked very well with her voice, as her vocal range matched with this song. I even thought that if she was trained profesionally, she would be able to be a great substitute for Emiko Shiratori. My mother's dead, but my father loves this song now and he has become quite acceptive of game music. He was astounded when he listened to several orchestral arrangement from Distant Worlds. Like many who did not know much about music from video games, he thought that game music were just bleeps and bloops from the late 80s. I'm forever grateful for that to everyone that were involved in the creation of this song, especially to the composer. By the way Chadiux, you really are something. I mean, THREE Melodies of Life? Not that I mind, I just found it quite interesting.

Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark for traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart to weave by picking up the pieces that remain Melodies of life , loves lost refrain... Our paths they did cross though I can not say just why We met, we laughed, we held on fast and then we said goodbye And who'll hear the echoes of stories never told? Let them ring out loud till they unfold In my dearest memories I see you reaching out to me Though you're gone I still believe that you can call out my name A voice from the past joining yours and mine adding up the layers of harmony And so it goes on and on Melodies of life, to the sky beyond the flying birds, forever and beyond... So far and away, see the bird as it flies by gliding through the shadows of the clouds up in the sky I've laid my memories and dreams upon those wings Leave them now and see what tomorrow brings In your dearest memories Do you remember loving me? Was it fate that brought us close and now leaves me behind? A voice from the past joining yours and mine adding up the layers of harmony And so it goes on and on Melodies of life, to the sky beyond the flying birds, forever and (on...) If I should leave this lonely world behind your voice will still remember our melody Now I know we'll carry on Melodies of life, come circle round and grow deep in our hearts as long as we remember....

Man than ending scene where Garnet just says "EFF IT" to everything, the insignia of the kingdom thrown aside, she doesn't care if she doesn't act like the new Queen of Alexandria, in that moment she doesn't WANT TO BE the goddamn Queen, throwing her crown aside into the audience.....running towards Zidane in tears and into his arms...... ....noone could ever not cry at this scene after you have experienced the whole story.... ...and then that cute little added touch that isn't shown here that she bumps her fist on Zidane's chest like she's saying: "Why didn't you tell me earlier that you survived it you jerk?!" It makes it all oh so more touching and human.

My first FF game I played (and first RPG too, for that matter). I used to have a crush on princess Garnet/Dagger in those days. I still remember her singing in the village, the whole identity crisis Vivi was having when he found out about those purple mages, grinding in the first area with Zidane with that sweetass battle music, overleveling my characters... That weird swampy area with tutorials, where the music went "wowowo wowo wo wo". So many fond memories, but never got past the Bahamut/Behemot whatever his name is. I'm definitely gonna replay it some time. Also remember hating the part in the sandstorm with the fire-ants. Those mf's were tough. I'm glad I got to borrow this game from my nephew back then. It opened up a wonderful world. Many wonderful worlds.

It was a chilly winter evening in Washington, D.C., and the grand hall of the prestigious Kennedy Center was abuzz with excitement. The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra was gearing up for a special performance of Coldplay's iconic song "Melodies of Life," adapted and arranged for orchestra by the talented composers George Skaroulis and Christian Henson. As the audience settled into their seats, the lights dimmed, and conductor Alondra de la Parra took her place at the podium. The orchestra members, dressed in their elegant black and white attire, focused intently on their sheet music, ready to bring this beloved song to life in a whole new way. The opening notes of the orchestra filled the hall, setting the stage for the hauntingly beautiful melody of "Melodies of Life" to weave its magic over the audience. George Skaroulis' arrangement added depth and richness to the already soul-stirring tune, while Christian Henson's composition breathed new life into the classic Coldplay hit. Each section of the orchestra worked in perfect harmony, with the strings bringing a sense of warmth and longing, the brass adding power and emotion, the woodwinds lending a gentle touch, and the percussion driving the rhythm and pulse of the music. Every note was played with precision and passion, capturing the essence of the original song while adding a fresh and dynamic twist. As the music swelled and soared, the audience was transported on a journey of pure emotion and beauty. The melodies danced and intertwined, carrying listeners through highs and lows, joy and sorrow, hope and heartache. It was a symphony of feelings, a tapestry of sound that resonated deep within the hearts of everyone present. Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, the members of Coldplay, were in attendance that evening, watching in awe as their song was brought to life in such a magnificent way. They had worked closely with George Skaroulis and Christian Henson to ensure that the essence of "Melodies of Life" was faithfully captured in this orchestral adaptation, and they couldn't have been more thrilled with the result. Phil Harvey, the band's longtime creative director, sat in the audience, a proud smile on his face as he watched the magic unfold on stage. He had overseen every aspect of the music direction, ensuring that every detail was perfect, every note in its right place. As the final strains of the song echoed through the hall, the audience erupted into thunderous applause, standing ovations ringing out as a token of their appreciation for the incredible performance they had just witnessed. The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Alondra de la Parra, had truly outdone themselves, delivering a show-stopping rendition of "Melodies of Life" that would be remembered for years to come. After the concert, as the lights came up and the musicians took their final bows, Chris Martin stepped onto the stage to address the audience. His voice was filled with gratitude and humility as he thanked everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition - the composers, the conductor, the orchestra, and of course, the fans who had supported Coldplay over the years. As the crowd dispersed, buzzing with excitement and emotion, it was clear that this evening had been something truly special. The melodies of life had resonated in every heart, touching souls and leaving a lasting imprint that would never be forgotten. And as the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra packed up their instruments and prepared to leave the Kennedy Center, they knew that this night would go down in history as one of their most memorable performances ever.

Coming back 13 years later just to update your old FFIX music video with HD footage is a perfect reflection of how important this game is to its fanbase.

we were in this country side of the place, there were barely anything going on.. but there is this karaoke joint where people dont frequent to despite being a small hub because its such a distance from the main road.. the owner pleasantly offered us to indulge so we gladly accepted and we purchased some alcoholic goods from the store to the owner's delight.. to our dismay, the songbook was long outdated, it ddnt contain songs that got released at least 10 years ago.. so i was leafing thru the pages, i found this gem.. i never expected to see a piece of my favorite childhood memory in that book.. since then, ive kept this song in my playlist..

I remember being 10 years old or 11 and getting a CD player. And I remember going to my windows xp and pirating my first song ever; this. I guess I started realizing that I was depressed in 2000 or 2001 one cause of this song. FF9 has a crazy high place in my life and heart. From the journey to the themes, the story, music, characters and scenes. The understanding of life and death. For almost 20 years now this song continues to make me cry and it’s crazy how it still just holds a big place in my heart. Still crying for Vivi as friends 20 years later.
