I love your version so much. All the others I see change the tempo so much that they feel pretentious but yours really keeps the soul of this song in tact. Fantastic performance!

Wowwwwww! A criminally underviewed performance! Perfect articulation and fluency. And your piano sounds friggin amazing, it's like silky chocolate butter. I grew up with these video games and their amazing music, and I feel kinda sad for people growing up nowadays who would have no idea this existed. And then I kinda wonder about all the amazing music before my time that I never knew existed.

What's CFX?
@alfalfamojica3972 Жыл бұрын
@@DarkYuanThe sound you are hearing came from an expensive Yamaha piano plugin called VST's not from the original Kawai sound that came with the piano he's playing. The CFX Concert Grand is a virtual piano instrument developed by Garritan, used as a VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugin. It aims to replicate the sound and expressiveness of a high-quality concert grand piano and he got it properly set up. I want to hook one up with my cheap portable piano to make it sound expensive but i can't afford that VST. 😂

Wow . . . you have a new piano. LOVE LOVE LOVE Please tell us more of your thoughts. Not many people have played both other than in a showroom tryout. If you can, please show us the difference between the native sounds vs the CFX.
@rach3master6 жыл бұрын
The Novus has the best piano action you can find in a digital piano. I played this alongside Kawai's best grand pianos and there's maybe only a 10% difference in the action. The native sounds still can't compare with any good VST, but you can listen to those sound samples on KZbin by Kawai or maybe from some other owners.

Thank you. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Hi rach3master, I absolutely adore what you do with the piano. Can I ask: when you use the Garritan VST, do you hear it live/immediately when you play yourself? In other words: can you connect/upload the VST directly to the Kawai Novus 10? Or do YOU hear the Kawai Shigeru while playing and does your playing send midi information to the VST on a computer and we only get the sound we hear on KZbin after playing/uploading from the computer? I'm asking, because if you can use the VST directly on the Novus, then that would be an argument for me to buy a Novus. Thanks!
@rach3master3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I mute the Novus’ own sound and hear the Garritan in real time as I play.
@WaldemarMoes3 жыл бұрын
@@rach3master Excellent! And does the sound also come out of the Novus speakers? So, into the computer for sampling and immediately back into the Novus for reproduction? Or do you have a separate set of speakers?
@rach3master3 жыл бұрын
@@WaldemarMoes I’m not sure how speakers would work, since I only play through headphones. I think it’s possible, but I would be the wrong person to ask.
@WaldemarMoes3 жыл бұрын
@@rach3master Thanks for your reply. My basic concern was if the sounds originates from a computer or (in the end) from the Novus. I'm guessing you have your headphones plugged into the Novus? But you also have to use a computer for the Garritan sound library, right? Or is the Garritan sound somehow processed inside your Novus? Cheers!

@rach3master, I see that this is your first video with the NV10. I’m actually deciding between this vs the N1X. You mentioned that the key action on NV10 is better than the N1, would you be willing to elaborate? For me, the touch/action is everything. Most people online praise the N1X. Plus, the NV10 is interestingly expensive knowing that it’s really a N1X competitor. Thank you!!

Sounds great and nicely played. Did you sell your AvantGrand? In Garritan CFX, I think the "dynamic range" knob default is 50%; try seeing if that gives you better feel than 100%.
@rach3master6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I sold my AvantGrand. I prefer dynamic range at 100% because it just makes the softest sounds even softer.
@wolfgangwei7036 жыл бұрын
This sounds so much better than what I heard when trying the instrument at the Musik Messe. But how are you improving the sound? How can you apply Garritan/VST/CFX and all that stuff to the instrument? Is this simply an external computer and some loudspeakers connected via midi? But then the advantage of an hybrid would be gone, which is (imo) the tight connection of the physical instrument with the produced sound. Is there a description of the overall setup somewhere available?
@rach3master6 жыл бұрын
The piano is connected via MIDI to my computer, which runs the piano library software (Garritan CFX) live while I'm playing. The audio is recorded digitally through MIDI without using any speakers or mics. I have no latency with my setup, so the tight connection is there.
