In the last years of my life, I’ve saved $1000 for emergency funds and haven’t touched the money. I’m proud of myself and now working on this year’s. I’m also saving another amount just cause and plan to just keep the money until I need it. Thanks for sharing these tips with us. Super helpful! I’m reading a Bible plan now to help me with my view of finances and being a better steward of my money .

Tithing is definitely the one thing that's changed my money habit. Trusting God for the last few years of my life with my money He's done more than whatever I could have ever thought. There's moments that you try to do the calculation in your head and you're like how is all this going to be taken care of with this amount here and he always makes a way.

Hi Melody, My impulse spending I had to put on full check was buying clothes, shoes and mens colognes. I'm a man and what man doesn't want to look fine 24/7. But when the Lord was teaching me to handle my cash properly, the one thing I had to pull back on was the desire to buy clothes etc. It hasn't been hard like I'm a shopaholic, but when I am shopping the urge and temptations get up there. But I think, get myself in a better position then I can do what I enjoy.

One thing that I will definitely be implementing in 2024 is breaking my big goals into yearly and quarterly objectives. That goes for debt, savings, education (and licensing as a social worker) and even personal growth and self care. Goals are beautiful and God-given. To me, planning is my act of intentionally to prove to God that I hear Him and am following his call for my life. But in that planning, there is still room for Him to move and do miracles.

I've learned and still growing in numbers 1 and 3. At one point, I was tithing Bi-weekly (pay days) and one day, I just stopped. I was so tight with money and that thought in my head would come to me like I need to keep ALL of my money just in case I need it. The Holy Spirit would remind me, 'try God, try Jesus, pay your tithes AND offerings'. I didn't do it. I had to repent and get back into doing it. I thank God for that, because when I did it faithfully, every payday, my income increased the very next time I got paid! Number 3, let's just say... God, please help me with that, because student loans are draining, even though I only have one student loan. One is enough, though. LOL!

Good day! I appreciate this video as always…having a budget on Excel is a habit that has really helped me. I really needed a reminder about tithing AND impulse shopping. I’ve always done this faithfully, however because I’m about to start saving for a vehicle, the enemy wants to pinpoint tithing as something to decrease. The devil IS a LIAR and I will continue to tithe the 10 percent and even more when directed by the Lord. Praying for all of us to take heed. Blessings to you, X, and baby girl (who I miss seeing 🥰)!

1 good money habit I have learned over the years is to save at least 10% of whatever income I receive. I transfer my tithe first and then my savings and then work with the balance. This meant that when I had a slow period with low or no income, I would have savings to fall back on until things picked up again....which it always does because God is faithful when we tithe.

Thank you for the video and may God bless you. I just wanted to touch on one thing and I thank God for the revelation about tithing. We need to understand back then they had another one of doing things and also we are not the people of Levi. However, I do believe you have to tithe, that why, I prefer to give my tithe to orphans in Africa (Congo) where I was born, and I have also sponsored a child that I do take care of financially. That's my way of tithing and I do believe that what God wanted me to do. Because, giving to the church is good. But the word of God tells us to take care of orphans and widows, so what better way to do it with tithe. That's my small testimony. But of obedience to God first. If he tells you to do something do it. God bless you all 🙏🏽❤.

Thanks so much for your content on Money habits❤ The Holy Spirit put it on my heart to learn about money this year and has been gracious in sending helpful content like yours my way. Some money habits I practice are: 1. Tithing (I’m also working on increasing it from 10% progressively) 2. Giving more to the church asides from my tithe 3. Allocating percentages to my monthly budget e.g. 50% for needs, 30% for wants 20% for savings/investments 4. Being diligent with budgeting

I'm not trying to be funny but like you just mentioned you are married. When you're married to a responsible person, things get done well and better and you two are able to save up. I have been single all these years in a single mother and have struggled almost all my life. I am totally in debt right now because I'm trying to stay afloat and trying to have faith in God at the same time it's very hard. I got a business but not doing well with it so it's not like I'm not trying. At my age I'm tired of going to get help when by now I should be making more money it should be out of debt and these are things I pray to God for. So it's much easier for married people

God bless you Melody. I believe in tithing and I’m so grateful to God for the Grace to consistently tithe. I think I can relate to the last thing you spoke about on participation in finances and understanding where your money goes, I tend to shy away from it too and just believe everything will be fine. I mean I know that they are going to be but now with this video I think I’ll try to come out of that and be a better steward in tracking my finances. So help me God 🙏🏽

Thank you, Melody!! This video came at the perfect time..after vacation 😅🙏🏽 I would love to get back on track. One money habit that’s helped me is opening additional savings and naming them. It makes it easier to save for specific things.

You're so right. Know about your finances. Something came up in our life and I had to deal with my finances and I didn't have a clue. So definitely get involved.
