As a gay man myself, I am very thankful that Melrose at least had the guts to TRY a gay lead character and attempt some storylines. In the 1990s, there was nothing. I was a teenager watching Matt as a kinda guide and it was nice to see a good-gay man who had good pure intentions and nothing more. LOVED that because what we were seeing was flamboyant Hollywood The Birdcage and In and Out or depressing everyone dies of AIDS dramas like Philadelphia (although that movie is beautiful). It was nice to have normality and i remember watching this with my mum as a teenager hoping one day she would see me like a Matt - just a normal gay man. Just a shame we didnt get a lot but i cherish his stories throughout.

I remember the scene with Matt and Billy's friend that they were going to kiss and FOX cut it. That's so ridiculous. They didn't treat Matt's love life like the other straight characters. In 2022, if Melrose Place was still on the air, it wouldn't even be a problem now. So glad things have improved.

It wasn't just a hug. Matt lightly kissed his neck. I remember watching this back in the 90s and just tearing up. 😭Years later, I had gay friends coming out to me. When some of them opened up about their HIV status, all I asked them was if they'd gotten all the meds they needed. I even accompanied one of them to their doctor once.

That was the extent of affection Matt ever got, and the other characters were allowed hot bed scenes. So unfair!

I just remembered a comment a while back, about all the disputes Amanda and Taylor have together, they both could have been a great couple....?! Like seriously?!.... Wondering, if Peter would have allowed that if he was man enough, or he would just join the team?!.... There is no pure hearts, and pure intentions in this sad world anymore. Prayers! People, I've been meaning to say this so many times to all of you,,,,,,.... Matt was the most considerate, thoughtful, helpful, kind soul around in that show. But, what I don't understand, years ago, many people have told me, if a guy is really super nice, and have all kind of nice qualities, consider him as a homosexual..... Like seriously?!..... So, why can't a straight guy be super nice too?!.... Sorry all. I just don't understand why many people would say such a thing, or even believe that?! Is this true?! Well, it never made any sense to me. What about you all?! 🗯️😶♥️

Personally, can not recall about Matt's situation. Now that I hear about it, it's a bit...... Because, people like this, consider as "spiritually sick" Cause, God has created man and woman to produce children..... Oh well. Keep up the great work everybody! All the best in everything everyone! 🤞♥️

What a dumb thing to say, this show was created by a gay man. And if a guy is gay, he's gay, are you saying he should fake a relationship with a woman for children and then tuning everyone's lives in the process? Ridiculous
