Melting Aluminum Scrap
There are different ways of melting aluminum scrap. Melting aluminium scrap using a propane furnace, with an electric furnace, and an oil burning furnace. All of them work well in separating the aluminum from impurities. I like using the vevor 12kg propane furnace in melting my scrap aluminium
In this video I will be melting 10 Lbs. of aluminum scrap cat food can lids and casting it into ingots. The cast aluminum ingots are now pure aluminum with the impurities removed and ready for casting.
Types of aluminium scrap
- Cast aluminium scrap
- Wrought aluminium scrap
- Other types of aluminium scrap
Where to buy aluminium scrap
- You can buy aluminium scrap from a scrap yard
- You can buy aluminium scrap from a recycling center
- You can buy aluminium scrap online

Oooh! Oooh! Now remelt those ingots into a lost foam pattern of a cat! You could inscribe it 'Heinrichs Made (or your HM logo) a cat from cat food lids.'!

a lost foam pattern of a cat 🤣 my hand carving skills need a lot of work before I can do that. That is a really good idea though 🔥🔥

I commented on the next video before lol (ads playing) anyways , great pour. The dross, will you try to remedy this to get aluminum out? Or it’s hopeless?
@HeinrichsMade

HAHA! It's not hopeless, but not worth it. You wouldn't get much anyway.
