O ok I need to get a thermometer gun so I can regulate the heat better

@@meltingipswich When u melt brass if u can see it's starting to smoke or u r starting to get some yellow oxide on ur crucible... it's starting to over heat Yes u can buy a digital thermometer but u can also do it visualy too

I wanted to cry... Beautiful products... There's plenty of brass everywhere, why spoil it? This is a rhetorical question, an order is an order, but I would refuse, even for money. People's work was put into it, and on a whim, everything was gone. I'm sad...

You read the final weight as 3.95 kg not 3.59 as displayed on the scale. Try adding some borax as a flux to get a smoother melt and pour.

Good looking bars there. I am curious about something. If the beginning weight was 8.61 pounds, then weighed 8.72 pounds after melting and poured. How did it get heavier? That’s a good trick. But anyways, great job and the bars look great. On a safety note, we’re you wearing a respirator due to the zinc oxide? That was a lot of smoke. One of the pieces had a lot not zinc in it than the others. Great video and thank you for sharing. Stay safe and have a good day.

Hi there first of all thank you for watching and yes safety first always respirator was on and as for the weight I didn’t notice that I’ve obviously typed in the wrong weight in pounds sorry I work in kg and I just ask Siri to convert it but I didn’t cross check it and now I can’t correct it 😂

@@meltingipswich lol I guess Siri isn’t always correct. What filters do you use with your respirator? I have started melting aluminum and copper will be in a couple of weeks. I have brass but will not melt it till I have filters. I have a respirator from work.

Yes this is the uk fitment. Just make sure they know it’s for uk use
