Paul talks about how our Melvin Chain Tensioner works, what makes it different from other brands, chain setup tips, and yes, refers to a SRAM chain as a Shimano chain at one point. What about that 24" wheeled Santa Cruz though?

This must be a machinist's obsession! I'm one too, I'm sorta retired now though. I'm Using a Melvin on my 'cross bike. 2 front rings, hand 'shifted' and a flip flop track hub for 4 gears total. I'm using 17 and 23 tooth White Industries freewheels and 34/40 'rings. I had to use a Wolf Tooth extender to make it all work right! This set up rips!! I get to catch my breath when I 'shift' gears. A 59 year old man's 'singlespeed'. The fact of getting off to change is added incentive to push the pedals harder! My fixed gear 'cross bike is also 4 gears, sort of weirder but oddly simpler. I had a Santa Cruz Tazmon once upon a time. They're not that old but older than that Superlight. I ride much older bikes most often! Ugly is in the eye of the beholder!! Remember the 1st Cannondale suspension bike? Y bike's? Those were ugly!!

No fucking way, I love you PAUL! I was just wondering if any chain tensioners would work well enough for a front derailleur setup..and here you are.. this is gunna be one helluva 89' Red Shred resto mod!

Best chain tensioner that exists. Brought my mid drive e-bike conversion back to life after I decided to go single speed and failed with two other chain tensioners.
