I have always said crazing is no more than an unexpected texture! While I don't intentionally try to get crazing, I don't care if it happens. I think it just adds interest!

Yes I love the cracking.. we just can’t be concerned with what the world think is perfect! I love when you use your hands to smooth the base. It’s a texture feeling smoothness like water running over a plate in the sink.

Yes!!! I love it too and I should do it more often. Especially the house paint that's just mixed with water. It's so relaxing and fun to play around in.

I've been following you since the beginning, what a ride! Love how far you've come. I would love to see you do a tree ring pour but instead of spinning it around and around, just tilt like the rings aren't there. Like stretching, returning to middle, stretching in opposite direction, return to middle again. I think you would rock it like the rockstar you are!!! Can't wait to see it!

@@MelyDartist Another good one is , Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When I'd finish a painting that I was thinking. Man , what am I doing. Not exactly what I was going for. My friend Mike & his wife , would say that. And it's true. That & the Bob Ross saying are two that I , always remember. Seeing some of your work & listening to you. Your amazing!! 🙂

Wow, Melly, that is just so gorgeous! Got to be one of my favourites of all times! I find it difficult to work with yellow (always get lost...), which is my favourite colour, so adding it at the end as a negative space us such a great idea!!

Just wonderful! Everyone seems to pop bubbles with a torch but you don't seem to have that problem.
@MelyDartist5 жыл бұрын
I read that comment so often. I'm thinking it might be because I use more paint and a little pouring medium as opposed to a lot that I see using less paint and a ton of Floetrol. I might be wrong though because Mixed media girl doesn't torch and she uses Floetrol... to be honest, I find it weird that someone would torch acrylic paint.
@MadeNCda4 жыл бұрын
Love this pce and your attitude re cracks 👍✌ I live in TO and just started pouring this past Dec. Prob 5/10 paintings crack - didnt know if it was temp or dryness or paint consistency, or quality etc. Pers dont like floetrol and now use small amt of glue mixed w water or just water to thin paints. It's a learning process for sure. I love using house paints too. Used up tester pots I had and buy Behr satin enamel white. Even use left over cans i've had and pcs turn out amazing. I'm enjoying learning about ea type of paint's properties. Love this pce and the textures of diff applications. Thanks for sharing your creations and knowledge 👍

I never mind a little cracking .. it dies give texture and I also try to.find different ways to make it look nice with the rest of the painting depending on where the cracks are... I sometimes just fill them in with acrylic paint markers especially silver if I can get away with it lol. But it rarely happens so i don't really worry about it when it does. Congrats on a great pour as usual & thanks for sharing 😉😉😉😉😉

Lol! Oh my Goddess Meli!! I turned on your video, I went back to the stove to turn my eggs, looked back at your video and you had just poured yellow on the white! Egg! Lol! Must be a good luck day! My ex husband left a bunch of house paint here.. in neutral tones. My girlfriend paints murals with house paint.. The house paint cracked in my paintings. It's just too thick. You are always a breathe of fresh air!
@MelyDartist5 жыл бұрын
I read this and looked back at the beginning of the video... it totally looks like an egg 😅 and yeah.. I'm not surprised about the house paint cracking. I used some a while ago and I can't seem to remember how I worked with it. Maybe just pouring medium... there has to be something to add to it to help it not crack with these temps
@Centannicocktails5 жыл бұрын
@@MelyDartist I watered mine down A LOT!! Like to the normal consistency you would use with tube paint. Also remember, house is supposed to dry fast.. it's meant to dry fast. I remember my husband painting the living room and by the time he was painting the bedroom the living room was dry. I live is California, in San Francisco bay area , and right now it's so cold, rainy and wet.. but.. the room I'm using for my art is colder than in the summer months.. my paintings dry evenly in this room weather it's cold or warm...using art paint. The few times I used house paint, I watered it down so that it moved on the canvas nicely. It still cracked and got thick on it's own. Remember.. you are using way more than just a half ounce. Try again but try on small sample canvas.. Have a nice evening!

I started initially pouring with white house paint as a base coat and it very consistently cracked even using floetrol as an extender. Have also tried several different brands so if anyone figures out a formula I’d bow down in gratitude if you shared it...!!!
@MelyDartist5 жыл бұрын
The best as a base for me is the Artist Loft flow acrylic with a little pouring medium and water. It's not what I used in this video but it's what I usually use and it perfect. Not expensive at all and easy to prep. Can also be used for cells if that's your thing.

@MelyDartist5 жыл бұрын
Only a bit of water but I'm thinking maybe if I add GAC800 or some pouring medium it could help with the cracking. Not sure though since those products were not created for wall paint... Maybe it's about time I try out Floetrol and add it to the wall paint so it doesn't dry so fast... hmmm
