NEW CELLS!? | Must See! | New Fluid Painting (Dump & Swirl & Drizzle)

Check out the DecoArt neon paint that creates New Cells! Well... new for me that is :) The Dump & Swirl & Drizzle pour is a new fluid painting technique that came to me after drizzling paint in my last video.
In this one I'm working on a 24"x24" level 2 canvas from Michael's. (If you want to pour over a dried painting, I strongly suggest one that has been dried for a long time. Months if possible).
I start off by using the Dump & Swirl technique. After, I let the paint react for a little over 30 minutes and follow up and 'Drizzle' lines through the painting.
The neon paint used looks very white while wet and dries light blue. It reacts SO much. Very fascinating :)

Love this. The colors are different and saturated. With the lines, the way you composed it made for a great 3D effect. I used some of the paints you have listed, couldn't find the neon lights knockout blue so I used a blue glow in the dark and got the most incredible beautiful canvas! Thank you so much! Yeah! I did a pour of the northern lights with the neon lights green and it reacted the same way! It must be that line that reacts like that.... It ruined my painting, but it gave me something more to work with. YESSSSS!👌😂

Perfect. No more left over paints. Just MelyDrizzle them until they are all gone. OFC, It does help to have a really nice pour to drizzle over. I rarely get that far, but I'm sure I get the drizzle part working once I'm there.

Thank you so much! The black satin enamel used here is not to get cells it's to get less. If you want cells everywhere using this technique all you need is Artist Loft flow acrylic. I add the black satin enamel (just a little bit) in it because I don't like when the whole canvas is filled with cells.

I liked it best at about 4:12-4:21. I know I am a simple gal, lol, so I like the less is more concept. A couple nice lines really made the painting. Did you mix the black satin enamel with a.l. black paint? And if so to what ratio? How do you like that pouring medium? I am not an artist, I just got hooked on this medium as a form of therapy/stress reliever. I envy you the ability to envision these amazing outcomes. I love your work. As usual another great video

MelyD what ratio of paint:pouring:water did you use? I've never tried this PM and bought some cause of this video but I think I did something wrong cause it cracked all over the sides. Not the middle but the darn sides. Lol. Maybe I used too much, I don't know. I'd be grateful for your input on ratios.

I always add just a little PM like 1 tbsp for example; but I don't measure and the rest water.

Just tried that last night. Maybe ten tiny cells showed through. Each layer of paint was fairly thin and should’ve produced cells. Artist Loft fluid doesn’t give me cells, but I use floetrol.. it must be in how to tilt.

I don't think it's the Floetrol because many who use it have agreed that the Artist Loft gives cells. Unless you use a large amount of medium instead of a large amount of paint... that could be. Did you use the same little Americana bottles?

What do you do when you've varnished a painting but after a while you don't like it? Can you remove the varnish?

If it's been a long time like many months, I say pour right over it. I cannot tell you what will happen to it in the future though. Could it peel off? If you re-varnish will it be ok? I did it for the first time a few weeks ago.

There isn't enough space to get something decent on that size, for me. The smallest I've done is 6x6 and meh. I like space to move the paint. If you commission them I'll do it for sure. Just email me what you would like.

Your black is the satin enamels - do you think some of the cell reaction is down to that, or do you think it is purely the neon decoart? Also - your ink on your bicep, is it a wave? Holy shit balls! The cells come from the Artist Loft black and the DecoArt used this way. The black satin enamels used this way helps so that there are not cells everywhere. I'll try and make a vid with more cells for you guys. A lot of people like that. Personally I love the negative space :)

Whoops! I wasn't referring to this specific pour, but in general when mixing our own paints and the white starts to take over colored paints....what is the problem, too thin or too thick white?

Generally white sinks to the bottom. If yours is taking over I'm guessing its either because you are using different brands of paint in the same painting (which is fine!) Or you did not prepare them all to the same consistency. If its thicker, it will sink ;)
