What is Memantine 10mg (Namenda)?
Memantine is N-Methyl-D-Aspartate receptor antagonist. Continuous activation of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors in the central nervous system caused by glutamate is thought to cause some of the Alzheimer's disease symptoms.
This overactivation is thought to contribute to neurotoxicity due to the excitatory properties of glutamate.
So Memantine acts by blocking the NMDA receptor, and limiting calcium influx into the neuron, such that toxic intracellular levels are not achieved.
It is used for moderate-to-severe Alzheimer’s dementia.

Sadly could be up to 4 to 6 weeks. It was like a weird roller coaster for me. Not really big highs or lows. Some days i was awesome and a go getter then some days i sat in my car having auch a hard time to wake up from this brain fart. It's not like its all day but you can tell it was the substance. Dint forget you need to take small doses and work your way up to 20mg if you're a healthy adult with no chronic illness. Just keep a log or just see the doctor. I know many use it off label but still seek help and be honest so they can help you.
