This is a fantastic breakdown of a perfect film. Literally the most perfect, tightly woven, pristine film. Periodt. At 3:47 notice that when Lenny is talking about memory and fact that in the background is Cathy's Flower Shop - his wife's name was Catherine and flowers for the dead is a common trope.
@dionplant91974 жыл бұрын
In the beginning of the movie timeline (the end) , there is a quick flash of his tattoo on his left upper chest that says 'I am done', this makes the entire movie's plot completely different, he's being manipulated into killing without him realizing that he had finished his origional goal previously..

Leonard becomes a serial killer with the perfect alibi: he has Anterograde Amnesia. He cannot remember all the crimes he committed. I believe he’ll continue to operate in that town or another but will eventually get caught. Teddy was covering his tracks but since Lenny killed him, the police will eventually catch up to him. There’s no way he could continue to operate like he’s been doing long term without someone helping him. Most likely he’ll end up back in a state hospital or institution.

Beautiful video, thank you for your work :) I was always connecting the movie with the latin phrase memento moris - remember that you are dead, because the protagonist cannot remember that he killed the real murderer, and that is why the word "moris" was missed in the title; he is continously reviving and looking the death, because his purpouse is the embodiment of death, that is why the title is just memento. Nice job!

Love your videos! Any chance you might do one in the future on Ridley Scott's Prometheus? Apparently, early versions of the script included a lot of material connecting the engineers' desire to wipe out humanity to the crucifixion of Jesus (i.e., Jesus was an engineer, we killed him, and the other engineers decided to reset human civilization). I've read some lengthy forum posts that discuss this and they really clear up a lot of confusing aspects about the movie. I'm sure you would find many interesting things to say about it all.
@youthnation15 жыл бұрын
It's pretty interesting. I've wanted to do something on the Christmas symbolism in the film. You right about the Jesus connection, I've heard Ridley Scott say as much in interviews. And its not the only Alien franchise movie that's made these allusions to the Jesus story. Ripley dies as a type of Christ in Alien 3 to then be resurrected in Alien resurrection.

Review of this film, here, I found just outstanding.. I did. It was thorough.. It was, in my mind, most appropriately accurate, should interpretation be necessary to save the planet. LOL! No one is so uniquely qualified to interpret art, however. Doesn't ' art take on a life of its own?' This film is sacred to me, as it shows what it's like to have attention deficit. ( or, I thought so ) When he was looking for a pen. Trying so hard to hold on to what's important. Knowing only one thing: What mattered.. Won't matter.. And, I will just look irresponsible. Because I couldn't keep up. Like I don't give a shit. When, in fact, I do.

I'm a bit bummed this one. Why is this video only 7:33 long? He could've dived in to way more. Like the meaning of the flash image of himself during the complex story about Leonard. Like the meaning of some of the tattoos. Other things that slipt my mind. He out way more time and effort into the arrival video which should have had a similar length for this, imo.

Hello. It is somewhat like sleep a psychosis to be more prudent. An intertwined dream with a dabble to thee awakening the next morning. Freshly risen underneath the sun as it enters the room before our still closed eyes. A journal of dreams. An existential thought provocation of an ontological system long antiquated to "enth" degrees. A process perhaps to unlearn what has been learned to inevitably learn once more. The always complex mathmatical structure defines us in every breath. Our sleep deprived from our own self sustaining automated system beats out breath and blood only to shed it anew. And as I harken to him, with an exhuberent hearatio. Exclaimed in utter preposterous means without the wherewithal to obtain civility. I take the steed thusly and before it begin's it's induction upon the mound. Without stables the wind rushes in each canyon crevice and river overflowed from the mid summers evening. And can we not exclaim to one another our indefirerence as to shake the trees pecans to our own feet? Leaving within it a lush fruitful exchange upon the table of each days creation. Only it's emminence reply's as we each reside somewhere at the midnights break. Good luck.
