To address the shuffling thing, its usually a matter of card thickness. Magic cards are thicker and have a core in the center of the card so that they don't bend as easily and are able to be bended back into shape with little to no damage to the actual card itself. Its one of the ways you actually test to see if a magic card is fake or not. So a good riffle shuffle of a magic deck won't harm the cards in any manner unlike yugioh cards which aren't as thick. That being said even magic players hate it when people Bridge shuffle as that can cause warping of the cards.

My friend and I were the only people we knew that played in our area. There's like one shop here and it's on the other side of the city. I use flip effects to send all his monsters to the graveyard? He uses cards that instantly kill face down cards.
@edschramm67574 жыл бұрын
when i was little i would sometimes get where i would be falling in a dream. unfortunately for me, i also moved in my sleep. so usually that falling sensation was actually me falling off the bed face first into the floor. the second one is relatable even across tcgs. the card shuffle one, i can't say i have ever seen anyone in MTG shuffle their deck in any way that bends their cards. actually, one of my buddies, to avoid bending his cards because he didn't have sleeves, wrote his deck in on a bunch of throw-away cards and shuffled THAT instead. if an effect question came up, he had the actual card on hand anyway. people try to skip opponent's reactions in MTG too. best way to counteract is to declare a response. if they try to say "i already played it" you can respond with "i didn't say i passed priority back, you can't play it anyway". i dont know what the technical phrasing for yugioh would be, but i know the digital forces those response windows in if you have a card that can be activated. it can feel kinda scummy, but its just the other player trying to guilt you. they knew what they were doing. the banlist that hit me the hardest was when i realized that both Stratos and Super Polymerization were both banned. i hadn't played any real events before, and that gutted my HERO list. everything up through XYZ was kosher to me, once i figured out how they work. pendulums are still BS, and Link monsters i despise. they might have unfair biased from Master Rule 4 gutting my decks again and making them feel like a cheap cash grab, but i still dislike them (also because, to me, they kind of embody the games current "i win turn 2" state, which i dislike. i play duel links, and very occasionally i go mess around with Legacy of the Duelist, but its hard to enjoy the game for me when the decks i want to play get FTKd half the time). 7:32 me bringing my elemental heroes deck to the one event i have ever been to, going up against Shadolls, Performapals, and something else i forgot about.

3:54 Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max is my equivalent to this. I tend to not use my normal summon, so if my opponent survived the beatdown of Ultimate Conductor Tyranno I just drop Ash Blossom, use it and Quetzacoatlus to summon a level 10 Synchro (or just use two copies of UTC if I have them), then use it and UTC to go into Gustav Max and shoot UTC straight to their face for game. 8:21 I also have a personal variation of this one. My Dinosaur deck is consistent overall, but there is one specific turn 2 OTK combo I adore to use that can go off with just a couple of cards (I need Oviraptor/Petiteranodon, Babycerasaurus/UTC and Misc/Argosaurus), assuming every single combo piece (2 Babycerasaurus, 1 Petiteranodon, 1 Jurrac Aeolo, 1 Linkuriboh, 1 Needlefiber, 1 Battlemech and 1 Ash Blossom) is still on my deck; wich is a lot harder than it sounds from personal experience. The results are totally worth it however, a Link God Dragon that spectacularly nukes the field , with Ultimate Conductor Tyranno right behind him for the OTK. In 99% of situations UTC alone would have been more than enough to swing for game, but it's just too cool not to do.

I think the thing with riffle shuffling comes from Magic's cardstock being closer to regular playing cards... like, from what I know, one way of telling a fake apart is putting the short edges (top/bottom) together; if it creases/doesn't go back to normal, it's a fake. I haven't had YGO cards for a while, but from what I remember (and if they're anything like every other Japanese TCG I know), that'd be a very bad thing to try.

"Why do grown ass men Play card games and watch cartoons?" I don't know Bridget, maybe cause it beats playing Canasta and watching soap operas in the nursing home?

I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh since the beginning of the GX era, but your videos are making me want to get back into it, at least casually. It's a far more interesting card game than I ever gave it credit for.

9:03 I really hate how true this is, I still remember dueling a friend after getting my classwork done in history class and was so into it that I started narrating like an anime protaganist and the second I look around most of the students were staring at me

The feeling of both players bricking and proceeding into the top deck war was a tradition first invented by the standard gameplay of magic the gathering when you really think about it. lol

Playing casually with a friend, needing the top deck to be something great, barely took a look at it beyond it being backrow and slammed it on the board with the might of Zeus. It was absolutely NOTHING, but the sheer force of the bluff turned the game around. That's the kind of feeling I get from the last one, really.

“Every banlist ever.” I remember in high school a friend of mine had made a deck based on self destruct button. He was so proud of what he had made. Not even a week after he built the deck, the banlist came out, and guess what got banned. He was so pissed off, he yelled that he was never going to play yugioh again. We lost him to Magic the Gathering that day. He never picked up a single yugioh card since.

Imagine having bought a shaddoll schism playset at release for around 9 bucks and a few weeks later, the playset is worth around 60 bucks.
