The purpose of the recorder was probably to torture parents, because me and the rest of my music class in Year 3 (idk what grade that is) tried to have a competition to beat the world record for longest recorder solo. My recorder mysteriously disappeared after a 3 hour solo. I never saw it again.

3:23 when I was in first grade, there was a cart full of these things, and I was mad at someone, dunno why, but I hid behind that cart and nobody knew where I was. Class wasn’t allowed to leave till they found me. Pe teacher literally called the cops on me. Classmate ratted me out as soon as she did, cops came, talked to me, ran away from cops. Good times, good times. (That same teacher is has been my pe teacher again for the past two years and it’s kinda awkward… the same police officer was the 5th grade drug program officer and retired right after he was done with my group.) 1:23 just triggered the memory of when I got one of these and decided that such a special creature should get a special name, so I tried to name it in "my own language." I was just stringing way too many sounds together that sounded good, attaching meanings to them and hoping that it would eventually become a language, but I forgot all the words and never came up with any grammar, sooooo... Anyhow, I settled on a name that sounded fun, punchy, and vibrant! And I, as a child who only spoke English (aspirational conlangs aside) presented the name to my family, one of whom also spoke Spanish. She freaked out and made it very clear that whatever I named that lizard was something really bad in Spanish. I'm not sure what I called that lizard, but in retrospect and considering my taste in sounds at the time, I think I may have accidentally named that lizard "Son of a Promiscuous Woman" in Spanish. I sincerely hope that whoever I gave that poor lizard to gave them a much nicer name like "Mr. Cool Pants" or something.
