Just as a note to the whole thing with BMI at 19:55: the BMI has some issues in how it scales for taller people. The CI (corpulence index, also known as the ponderal index) is tweaked to scale better for taller people such as Nogla or myself (6'7"). As an example, based on the BMI, Nogla would have to lose 27 pounds to drop out of the overweight category. But using the CI it would only be 10 pounds. No scale is going to be able to fit everyone accurately-expecially when only using two stats-but the BMI is known to be flawed for taller folks.

The added correlation of obesity and fast food has to do with the lack of rising income with the rising cost of living. Can’t afford healthy food due to low wages and high cost of living, so forced to eat unhealthy foods because it costs less to buy. And due to low wages and crazy health costs, people in US don’t do annual checkups to help with health because they can’t afford it. A lot of the issue for Americans is the broken system.
