Front 3? Do you know how football formations work? They wouldn’t be a front three at all. Also, McCoist was never in the same league as the other two. Even at his best. And certainly not at the time when Gascoigne and Laudrup were playing for Rangers. I’m sure McCoist was on the bench a lot of that time.

I am so glad I was there, that Gazza happened in my time 😲 oh what. "That team", it was a massive privilege to watch that team every week. Us as Rangers supporters were all privileged but so was our opponents, even though they'd never admit it. Am amazed we never won a European Cup wi that team, we should've, we were that good! I mean, come on now. Calm down. We had two good players, Gascoigne and Laudrup. You could possibly include Goram in there too. We weren’t close to being European Cup contenders. We got thrashed regularly by the likes of Ajax, Dortmund and Juventus, who had whole squads full of players of that quality.

Rumour has it that Gascoigne had been fearful that Andy Goram would beat him up if he said too much, however I just think a) he was probably saying that tongue-in-cheek and b) he didn't really want to rub it in too much. He is of course English and will always be remembered as an England football midfield genius but as much as anything he is also a very decent human being.
