I wished every guitar player would watch this video. I played guitar for 10 years and never got anywhere. Entail. I learned the fingerboard on the guitar and started reading music. I started reading music in 1984. This is the best way to learn. You learn all the notes in all the chords, and all of the notes on the guitar. It was quite an accomplishment for me, I’ve been playing since 1974 I love guitar I love music. And reading tab and reading music. I’ve come along way I am now a solo instrumental guitarist. I think people like you on KZbin that show people the correct way of playing a guitar. Sorry for the lengthy comment but I have a lot to say on this situation. All of you beginners do one thing learn to read music. Thanks for the video. Have a great day.👍🏼👍🏼😎❤️🎸

Except that he didn't explain how to memorize the notes at all, only how to identify them based upon the notes on the low E string and the octave pattern, a useless method when actually playing the instrument. You simply do not have the time. You must be able to identify each note by sight immediately. Anything less is grossly insufficient.
@theartfuldodger935 Жыл бұрын
@@noclouds111 Why use the octave pattern at all? Look at a note diagram. He's teaching the octave pattern as a way to find notes. Wrong. Go ahead, try and play that way. Fumble about looking for your roots. Unless you're playing against a slow groove, it's going to sound like something slowly moving thru the groove of your ass.

I literally bought a (cheap) guitar the other day and just decided to go ahead and try to learn to play. I began with starter beginning lessons and quickly realized I have to begin even before that. First, I need to understand what on earth does anyone mean. This helps. I have a terribly long way to go because I am starting from scratch.

@@guitar-academy I am just trying to learn a spider walk...never heard of that before. My fingers don't seem to work well together but this is my homework to learn. Yes, its for fun and just to prove to myself I can learn this.

@@esterdrass4964 The pentatonic scale is a good starting place. You play 2 notes per string and this builds up your ability. Here's a video I did on it kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYTZiadnbNFpiK8

@@guitar-academy Thanks! I am going there. I litterally flipped the guitar around to see if the fingers on my other hand are better and they are not. So this will time.

I wish I had known this when I 1st started playing in 1964 instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and just stumbling around in the dark. It wasn't until I started taking lessons years ago.I learned" Even After Drinking Good Boys Eat "

Eat Acid Daily Get Baked Eternally This was a great program. I was a lead singer/writer over 25 years, but I've played guitar longer. I'm fairly decent at rhythm having taught myself starting with Elvis, then Beatles, Wings, Who and other great classic rock from 50's through 70's I never became real proficient because I didn't have the patience to learn any theory. I was great at parties with the acoustic and used my acoustic to write dozens of solid songs, but rarely played acoustic or electric live, and knew zero soloing. Now I'm retarded...er I mean retired and at 57 but don't look at day over 56 and a half, I've got time to learn! This really helped, I am actually learning new stuff (for an old dog) and having fun doing it! Thank you brother! Jack ~'()'~ Canadian manly ladies man & man about town!
