Thank you for taking the time to share this method of memorizing. Everything about it is helpful to me - the sketch, the notations and the colors. It gives me a picture of the order involved. This is MY style of learning! Thanks.

I love your schematic, very pedagogical **help** in memorizing the 108 moves of tai chi. Your learning method may not be needed by everybody, however for me it is very useful, rather like having waypoints on a long journey, they help me know where I am and where I'm going.

Did the Tai Chi workshop and learned it in 4 mths. During in between classes, I also practiced at home. Classes were twice a week and we learned about 3 - 4 moves each class. It wasn't easy but eventually rote training kicks in. Good line of learning!

As I recall, in section 3 of the form, there is a sweep around the last 6 movements. I had a lot of trouble mastering the move.

In my experience it mostly comes down to frequent practice. Most of the new students in out group learn the set of 108 moves in 4 to 5 months coming together for group practice once a week and practicing at home a few times during the week.

I’ll try your method. Thank you! I usually learn a sequence like a choreographed dance with music and it works for me too. I would play a popular song instead of the usual Chinese music background.

Thank you for sharing your algorithm. Where did you learn the 108? Where and how often do you practise? We train daily but outside work is not practical in the Canadian winter. We have to make do with Inside practise during the Cold time.

I thought the headquarters in Tallahassee closed and was moved to Destin. Is there still an active Tai Chi program in Tallahassee?

What style is this? Looks close to Wu, but probably Yang?
@elsie900 Жыл бұрын
It's a modified (simplified) version of Yang style, easier to learn than most "mainstream" forms. I learned this form a while back, but later transitioned to regular Yang style which is definitely a step up in terms of physicality and challenge. Many seniors find this version more comfortable.

Years!?! Why did it take so long? Once we know the basics, then it is simply memorizing the order through solo and group practice.
