Anastasia completed her PhD studying bioelectricity at Columbia University. When not talking to brilliant people or making movies, she spends her time painting, reading, and guiding backcountry excursions. Michael Shilo also did his PhD at Columbia studying the elastic properties of molecular water. When he's not in the film studio, he's exploring sound in music. They are both freelance professors at various universities.
Dr Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, is a biologist and author best known for his hypothesis of morphic resonance. At Cambridge University he worked in developmental biology as a Fellow of Clare College. He was Principal Plant Physiologist at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics and From 2005 to 2010 was Director of the Perrott-Warrick project, Cambridge.

that minds are not confined 'inside heads' is quite undoubted - the amount of accounts of people who 'died' on operating tables and then watched their own procedure take place, floated outside the hospital and looked at the roof, followed their family home down the road and listened to their conversations, went to heaven and came back with an accurate prophecy (which they did not want to believe), is endless

Initially I had an issue with the title: I was going to say maybe NEVER skip the designation "Dr" for well known individuals such as Dr Sheldrake, while tossing random unknown "Dr" (PhD) titles in front of other obscure names. It Smacks of egotistical misguided sentiment. HOWEVER, it appears the title of this video is actually uploaded by Dr Shelldrake, or those who handle his KZbin account. Which means he (or those around him) are overly compassionate with regard to the academic accolades of others, while being indifferent of their own. Bravo!! I see the Demystified YT account handled this same video title quite respectively. So I stand corrected. And will continue to watch and contribute to both Patreon accounts. ..

Great conversation! I wonder what dr sheldrake would say about the idea that when many people believe something is impossible it somehow is, but once we see someone has done it our belief instantly changes. The example I always hear mentioned is how everyone believed nobody would ever run a mile under 4 minutes. Yet very shortly after Roger Bannister did it several other people did it as well. Some that were interviewed even said they felt it was impossible until Bannister did it. Very curious

Parkour always really comes to mind when I hear of morphic resonance, 3 or 4 guys all trying some new challenging trick on the street, all of them failing, time after time, then all of a sudden one of them unlocks it and gets a clean landing, then the rest follow, its like as soon as the move is complete once, the rest find it much easier, so much so, that they end up doing an extra flip on the end of the impossible (3 minutes previous) trick...

One example of morphic resonance has to do with pathogens that live in our bodies and adapt to form powerful biofilm to survive and override our immune systems. These biofilms “pulse” within our bodies. Controversial “Lyme disease” is an example of morphic resonance. As a nurse and PhD prepared researcher, I’m interested in this conceptual framework. I’m also wondering if Anastasia is aware of using EMF electromagnetic therapy, which I am using to treat pathogenic overgrowth in my body? I find this very useful and use what is called a Doug coil, named for the inventor, to good effect. Royal Raymond Rife worked at developing this therapy in the early 20th century but was defamed by the established medical community. I also find red light therapy to be helpful. We definitely need to address serious conflicts of interest.

Rupert is au fait with the Idealism of Bernardo Kastrup who argues with great parsimony using an analogy from psychiatry that we are all Alters in Mind at large. For Mind at large space and time don't exist, sometimes people can see future events because the barrier between Mind at large and their little mind has been dissolved and they retrieve or tap into data that is often times shown to be veridical. In my opinion Rupert's work on the extended Mind also aids us in understanding this phenomenon.

Because plasma phenomena are scalable from nano to cosmos, some subjects such as land form generation are to a degree reproducible in the lab... that is to say very good analogues of observable land forms such as buttes, dikes, triangular buttresses, canyons etc have been produced in plasma experiments. Anthony Peratt for example, developed spiral galaxies, synchrotron instabilities etc at Los Alamos at millimeter scale with plasma. The Thunderbolts Project has a number of videos demonstrating plasma phenomena mimicing what we observe in the larger organism we inhabit and call deep space. Always wonderful to hear Rupert Sheldrake discuss just about anything...

35:30 Its cool to hear there is another animal experiment of morphic resonance going on with the nematodes. I was always intersted to hear about more studies and obstacles to future efforts, since I learned about your theory in the video game Zero Escape; It describes a rat maze experiment similar to this (I believe you've referenced in on this channel too) as well as really exploring how the morphic field is used to solve puzzles very much like the Wordle example (the game came out in 2007 well before that app but it explores a similar concept) I think its actually kind of an intersting thing to mention that it was difficult and required secrecy and discretion to conduct this as you mention there is systematic mistrust of the morphic theory in academia; in the game (some spoilers but it might pique y'alls interest), it is revealed you and 9 other humans are being forced to participate in essentially a human test of this theory by facing the group with life or death problems seperated in 2 identical replicas of a boat with the same puzzles seperated across the world (and time as well, with many years ago the test being ran to see if anwsers could be shared through time as well as space). In order to conduct this experiment, the people are kidnapped by a phramacutical company and the thing is ran as a deeply illegal and under the radar operation. While this makes for a dramatic and dark story, that setup does make an interesting commentary on how this theory won't be tested or given proper resources by establishment academia and in that fictional universe it took those motivated by the wrong reasons to test it; instead of academia and giving it to the honest testing it deserves. If any of yall are gamers or have done an escape room before and enjoy sheldrakes theories it is a must play

Good point Rupert by talking about the article in Nature. That made me think that science today is like a hammer and all that it wants to research is nails, haha. Regarding memory across space and time I recently heard that causality is still an unsolved problem in philosophy and in science! So causality I think is holistic, meaning that events are caused by all of reality holistically across all space and time. Edit: One of the hosts talked about the definition of God. I think it's very simple! God is infinite intelligence. Then of course, the question is, how to define intelligence? One definition is that intelligence is the ability to increase complexity. And then how to define complexity? That seems extraordinary tricky, because there are no isolated systems, and the behaviour of a system may include resonance with the past and the future in an incredibly complex web of relations. Anyway, that fits with the Bible I think where it says in John 1 that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Why was the Word only God in the beginning? My explanation is that God is the unmanifested Word and Christ is God's only begotten son, esoterically meaning Christ is the Word manifested (The Word made flesh and "Truly I tell you, even before Abraham was born I am") and that the Word has created everything (John 1). In Malachi somewhere God says: "I the Lord do not change", so I see God as the same as Brahman, infinite and changeless yet the cause of all changes. From an atheistic perspective the Word can be seen as an infinite platonic form arranged with infinite intelligence. The Word therefore just timelessly is! No separate creator needed, and we are one with God, yet God can be seen as greater than us since God also includes all the future. That's why Jesus said somewhere in the Bible that the Father is greater than him even though also being one with God (the Father is the infinite unmanifested Word and Christ is the manifested Word, always expanding as the way to the Father and the truth and the life).

As a species, we often find ourselves on a pendulum. We go from one extreme to another, and then we find the middle if we are fortunate. We were extremely religious, and God was very literal to a fault. Then we went to the opposite end and said no God only material and find ourselves stuck in this argument of these sides. The middle is where we imo need to land where we agree we don't really know nor can we and that the literal religious dogma isn't right and only material isn't right either. There are forces invisible to us that we don't know the truth about.

According the Indian pre Vedic movement called Shaivism dating back far more back than 6000 years. In the present cycle (Kali Yuga) of the human race, although it is the age/cycle of intense conflict, this period is very favorable to collect and integrate vital knowledge, What took in the former cycles years even centuries can be gained now, in even a day in the present cycle , in days or even hours. Sheldrake, Kastrup, Faggini, Mcgilchrist, Spira, Bohm, Krishnamurti, Watts and many others give us the unique (partial) opportunity to be exposed to basic integrated vital, existential human knowledge and related experience. And blow our minds literally, in creating an opening in the destructive thick personal and collective ego "crust" and it's ridiculous (scientific) assumptions.

I suppose perhaps the underlying fear if we speak what we share and it has no approval it's the fear of being ousted from our perceived tribes. Makes you wonder how would someone ever get creation going. Someone has to go out on a limb. And trust if you don't see the tree it's hanging from. Certainly others will help you get that growing;). Science discoveries are so often performed independently at different locations by different scientists way before modern communication. I've always pondered that some type of telepathy (morphic resonance) was taking place. Chemistry looks at the dancing of valence electrons and physics owns the domain of the nucleus - just wondering why physics has the final say and not chemistry, which used to be considered the central science.

In genesis, there was the "Ruach" that created waves. This was intention. Intention to create was the precursive act that pre-ceded the act of creation which preceded and even still proceeds determinate reality. But this only proceeds according to a graduated sequence of first, second, third etc. in an intellectual linearization of what is evidently a constant, infinite process. We perceive this cavalcade of "light becoming" as a "line" in the same way dwellers in a two dimensional world perceive a sphere to be a collection of expanding and contracting circular slices of the sphere which they must then assemble into the concept of an object that exists across an interval of time that includes the "present time slice" as an instantaneous element of the larger set of "other slices"... a "Morphic Field" if you will. But the linear aspect of this perception is not the way it actually is because the actual creation is one infinite set. A Spiritual Universe exceeds yet contains the universe of Matter, Energy, Space and Time, time being a critical element of this reductive process of "isness forming". But consciousness ... i.e. the I or the Spiritual entity known to each of us as "I AM", exists within, around and without the gross elements of past creations. We keep going. We are not where we have been. We trust that we will be in the future and that the father of the next moment will preserve our "kingdom" of worldly experience beyond the limits of any frame of reference that includes time as a barrier. Sorry if that seems like a serving of dressed lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers, but, these are difficult ideas to represent in a comment on f***ng KZbin. Thank you Dr Sheldrake for being here, communicating and holding a position as the being only you know you are.

The conversation around 1 hour 20 about understanding and empathising with others - this for me is at the heart of the matter. It's taken me decades to get to this view in spite of a significant mystical experience some 20+ years ago, but the truth of unconditional love is that nothing is wrong, or evil - unconditional love is for absolutely everything and everybody. The idea proposed by Shakespeare, Alan Watts, Bill Hicks and other visionaries is that this is a huge cosmic drama, and for me a good drama has to contain everything, from the most sublime to the deepest evil. At the end of your life, when you take your final bow, there is a "round of applause" for everyone, even those perceived to be the most evil, because everyone has played their part, and everyone is equally important and vital to the drama.

Morphic Resonance is not a concept - it is a name used to refer to a natural process that is what creates temporal reality. So, "can we manipulate existence by Morphic Resonance"? Oh but we DO ... that's HOW we do everything. We speak because we have spoken. We read (in the present tense) because we read (in the past tense). And we first spoke because others had spoken before us and and we learned to read because others have read (in the past tense). One may disagree with the terms "morphogenic field" or "morphic resonance" but these are just words, like "tomorrow" or "faster than light" (equally unfalsifiable). The word used to describe a transcendental object can never be the actual "thing" referred to. Yet we can talk about "thought" while no-one is capable of proving that any thought actually exists anywhere. The word is just a business card that substitutes for the item, whatever it may be or not be. A word one seeks to express the extents of a newly postulated phenomenon is not a determinant of the phenomenon itself (except, of course, as the use of a particular word may become so commonly used that it influences the future path of the thing itself).

That said, from the outside, having only seen this first video from your channel, - the set up seems far too staged and unnatural. The background research doesn't appear to have been done and the questions often seem (I may be incorrect and have misinterpreted) too aimless and often unstructured or ill-informed. His contribution to the science can and must be a sliver, a dust mote, unless he wants to be brave and try what Sheldrake and Hancock and others are doing with their own money & donations. He is deeply disheartened by the notion that he'll never make a name for himself, never truly explore his field, but must instead cite, and footnote and refer constantly to the accepted template currently propping up the dominant paradigm. 😮‍💨😡
