However every single time it goes from their salary. So Person A earns 5k a month and person B earns 3k a month. This means Person A got 3k left to spend while Person A got only 1k. And I can bet you on it that Person A is bummed that B cannot afford vacations and shit. Bruh anyone who starts with the 'equally split' bullshit never really splits equally, this only applies when one person benefits and the other sacrifices. And it's always the same dynamic. Person A is always the man, and Person B is always the woman. Every single fucking time. It's pissing me off. The solution is easy, throw it on a pile, have money to go bills, others to savings, and an emergency fund, and give each other an equal amount of spending money outside of necessities. Want a watch, new clothes or a concert ticket? Use your spending money. Whoops sorry not enough? Tough luck, save up like she's got to. There is a contradiction in regard to "not caring about education" when the mother is the first teacher. If a woman is NOT educated, she is "likely" not really capable of helping the children from primary school into higher education. So, the "not caring about a woman's education" doesn't make sense. I think some men are just threatened by the education of the woman they want. Otherwise just get a dummy, but then understand your kids may end up dumb, lack critical thinking etc.

I was fortunate to be raised by an amazing father who expected and pushed for me to have a college education. He obviously knew men and although he loved and protected me and my mom he also knew there were plenty of men who wouldn’t. Even after I graduated from college he wanted me to go to graduate school. Those people don’t want 50/50. They want the woman to be dependent on them. If a woman has no money of her own, she has no means of her own to get the fuck out. They don’t want a partnership, an equal footing in the relationship. They want to be the one in control. In fact, I think that’s true across a number of dynamics. The control part, I mean. I lived with a guy for 4 years & he had passive income from rental properties he inherited. He had himself set up & didn’t want to have to take care of anyone. So I worked while he slept all day & we both contributed. Every once in a while he’d decide I needed to do the cleaning or whatever. That never lasted. We ate out a lot. He tried to isolate me, though & control what I did & who I hung out with & to some extent what I wore. He did not win on any clothing issues, but sometimes that shit is exhausting & it’s not worth the fight. I am not dealing with people’s jealousy and/or trust issues any more. That is your problem & I’m gonna do what I want. Get help ffs. The relationships I had with people I didn’t live with were the most peaceful & drama free…which works out well because as it turns out I fucking hate living with someone.

As a child in the 80's, I saw my fair share of depressed housewives trapped in marriages because of financial dependency. Somehow, even at that age, I understood the problem with power dynamics. I first moved out on my own in 1990. I was determined to NEVER be financially dependent on a man or let one be financially dependent on me. We need to get back to the ideals of 2nd wave feminism. In the industries I have worked in, I understand the long-term and sometimes lifetime consequences of being a sahm, and the risk of being a low earner? Social security is based on how much you pay into the system. The lower you earn, the less you have in retirement. I speak with tons of older women who are clearing $800-$1000 per month through SS. Men are starting at $1500 per month and above. Through pensions, they are paid $3000-$5000 per month. I rarely speak to women who aren't teachers, nurses, or retired military that have anything outside of social security. Last, you can only draw up to 75% of what your spouse would get if they pass. I stayed home with my children, and it was a great investment for my kids and their father. It was a bad investment for me. I am blessed not to be destitute. I am blessed to have the ability to gain. I am WAY behind. As a result...I made sure my daughters are WAY ahead. Men are the reason women changed their focus from family to career!

My husband sucks at school - we were lab partners in 7th grade (LOOONG before we dated) and i did all his work so we could pass lol. Just not a strong suit of his. Fast forward i have a masters and hes an electrician and he needed to study for his E1 recently. He doesn’t know how to study or prep for tests so i helped him put bookmarks in his textbook, made him flash cards, helped him prep. He aced it first try. And i suck at lots of things he helps me with. Marriage is about brining your combined skills together to lift each other up.
