I love the scene where they interview Edgar's wife... because she literally made them lemonade, but couldn't make it right because someone ATE ALL THE SUGAR! It's the little things like that.. the attention to detail, which makes this such a good movie.

@@F1rstWorldNomaD Just me, but I would definitely put it up there: tight, rich script that understands the time it's living in and pays tribute to the several escapees and refugees from Europe who are in this movie; layered, flawed characters who invite argument and discussion from us, and all played by gifted actors; humor as well as drama; Dooley Wilson in a rare 1940s depiction of an intelligent and creative man of color; and, of course, the music.

@@Marionney Well, I don't the birth year of a viewer matters if the movie is good; and there are certain things in human nature that just don't really change. When a story manages to tap deep enough into those things, it can become timeless. I believe "Casablanca" is one of those types of stories. Incidentally, I myself was not born in the 1930s.

Casablanca… it’s not a question of should but must. It’s on the top list of any film buffs list of all time greats. A delightful romance set in a crazy time with two of the biggest stars of their time: Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart. When Men in Black came out our local paper interviewed Lowell Cunningham, who is a friend of mine. They asked him if he was a big success and he said, "I'm just a local geek who made good." 😀I'll see him around town from time to time, in one of his many colorful bowling shirts, just blending in with the local crowds who don't know who he is. He is happy that he's not recognized by anyone who isn't a friend of his. 😀 A Tommy Lee Jones movie that most people haven't heard of is Man of the House. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky..." Love this quote because it is extremely accurate, and I paraphrase it a lot! Not Tommy as the lead, but 2 movies that pop to mind are Under Siege 1 (probably Steven Segall's best movie ... and considering he's an epic douche bag, it puts him in a decent action star light) and No Country for Old Men One where he is the lead, is Volcano. I don't remember too much about it, but I did enjoy it when I first saw it. That was a long time ago though... and I do remember there being a broken sound in the edit that's kept in the movie. Scifi comedy, first thing that comes to mind is Mel Brooke's spoof, Spaceballs. A movie I loved to death...literally! The VHS my dad had it on met its demise from me rewatching it way too much

Fun fact: Danny Elfman had a band back in the 80s called Oingo Boingo and his very first movie music was the title song for the film Weird Science. Since then, he has done the music for tons of movies and is one of the most highly sought-after movie composers today.

@15:42 That was some sour lemonade. Yeah because Edgar-roach drank all the sugar. A really good film with Tommy Lee Jones is "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980) A biography drama-comedy about country singer Loretta Lynn.

Absolutely definitely you need to see Casablanca. Great movie that works beautifully as both a romance and as an allegory for the early part of WW2 with each character playing the part of the country they are from.

Love M.I.B, such a great movie. Some Comedy Sci Fi recommendations, 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy', 'Guardians of the Galaxy', 'Paul', 'The Watch' and 'Mars Attacks!', all worth a reaction for the channel

"Not that kind." LOL. :D As for Casablanca, haven't seen it myself but it's always recommended so yes watch that. As for Tommy Lee Jones movies, he was in the Loretta Lynn biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter" opposite Sissy Spacek (who incidentally is the cousin of this movie's Rip Torn aka Z). He also played a magnificent villain in the Steven Seagal movie "Under Siege", directed by the same guy who directed The Fugitive. He was also in JFK. And in Heaven & Earth which is an Oliver Stone Vietnam War movie (IIRC, considered the third of his Vietnam War trilogy). Natural Born Killers is another. Volcano is all right too. As is The Client. So many TLJ movies. :) And hello, Banjo. So happy to make your acquaintance. :)
