@@ariusberry4727 It's not just about the colour of your skin more about your reputation ....
@Architector_43 жыл бұрын
@dr4kz0r That argument also fully implies that skin color isn't something to be ashamed of either. However, quite a bit of our modern society typically causes some of that shame about own skin color to happen anyways. Being proud of it is not an attempt to gain superiority over others or anything such. It is simply means to offset the effects of racism via principles of equity. It's the same reason LGBTQIA+ people are proud of themselves, and why this month is the pride month. It's to offset the shame felt by people who are otherwise unable to accept themselves because others aren't able to accept them.
@Architector_43 жыл бұрын
@dr4kz0r I have never stated that you said that it's something to be ashamed for. I have no idea where you got that idea from. Infact, I've specifically stated that your argument also implies that skin color is not something to be ashamed of either, which you agree with. Human minds aren't rational enough to be immune to self-shaming about uncontrollable factors. When a person acquires solid internalized homophobia from people close to them and then later finds themselves out as gay, for example, the thing they will feel is exactly that: shame about themselves. That much is obvious. A very similar situation can happen with a person of color. One could live with people who constantly demonize them for their skin color, or end up interacting with such people enough, to feel themselves to be inherently bad, wrong, broken, or such. And, of course, feel shame. It indeed does not make logical sense to be ashamed of being black, the same way, by itself, it doesn't make sense to be proud of being black. However, as stated before, people indeed can feel ashamed of being black, because people aren't inherently logical. And therefore, in order to offset the shame for being black, other people, who realize that it is illogical (and, more importantly, an issue that is better resolved), use the same thing, but pointed the other way, to help them. That way is being proud of being black. That is specifically to help remove shame of some people of being black, which does happen and is real; and as you said, it's best to not be ashamed. It's one of the many means to bring "being black" to a fully neutral state of something to not be ashamed of and not to be proud of. You seem to want it to be in that neutral state, so I feel like it's instead in your best interest to help move it to that neutral state, instead of stating that it should not be moved either way - because racists will keep trying to move it the opposite way of something to feel prideful about, which should be counteracted. In other words: pride about color is a counteractive motion to racism. Racism doesn't make sense as much as being prideful of being black doesn't, but one of these things exists regardless of that, and that necessitates the other thing exist too, as a counterweight.

K comes to know about J after this incident which means in the first movie of MIB when they were interviewing all the candidates K already knew J is going to be selected.
@Matthew-li7we3 жыл бұрын
He knew J would join MIB, but he doesn't know how or when. It is entirely possible that J COULD have not been chosen at that moment, but still find himself joining MIB after he saves the world from the bugs later on. Let's say he visits the morgue to investigate the murder of that guy(tiny prince alien in that one robotic body the bug stabs at the Italian restaurant) and somehow ends up helping K save the world. After the 'new' partner was KIA fighting the bug.

That "poor misunderstood alien" is just a plain merciless, unrepentant murderer who literally wanted to overtake the whole planet. He didn't even spare the girl who helped him escape. You OK with that? ... And are you just kidding here, or what? It's hard to tell, with only text.

@@aardvarkbiscuit2677 I was going to bring that up myself, it initially started as a joke and under certain contexts is still used to be casual or friendly, but white supramacist have begun to use it too (since a few years ago), context matters though. I'm not going to assume someone using the OK sign when talking to a friend about a good day to go out as anything more than it is.
