When women are abused, they are hurt twice. Once by the abuser and twice by society for telling them that they shouldn't have wore what they were wearing, that they're lying, that they're ruining a man's life... the list goes on. I think it's the nature of society as opposed to which gender is abused. Not invalidating your point btw, rather adding to it

@@jem231 I agree. Also, women are told to forgive the abuser. Stay with the abuser, that's whay I was told. It is also difficult to get into a DV shelter if you don't have a child. That is unspoken about. People think it's so easy to get into a one. I'm homeless right now. When your "family" is abusive, you are always blamed.

Fellas, if a woman doesn’t like you anymore because you cry, she’s not the one for you. It is lie to think that because you cry that you’re not a man. Crying is literally part of survival and it can help you connect with others and you won’t feel so lonely, which as you know we are social creatures. Again, if I woman dumps you or loses interest because you express feelings she could possibly be under the mainstream impression that men don’t cry

For the you that you are now it may be a great burden to bear. It's okay to have these dark thoughts as a consequence. However, with that being said, I really believe that there is more to you than you are right now. That there is a you that can overcome the situation you are in right now, no matter how hopeless. There is hope for change, even if it's just a small step, if it can alleviate the pain just a little bit that's alright. Keep going. You'll get there. You have it within you. It's kinda the same still for me now. I could go out and strike up a conversation with a woman but I really don't care atm. I'm happy with working for 40 hours a week, coming home and talking/playing games with friends and gymming. I'd be perfectly fine being alone for the rest of my life too. Mine would be that when I was a boy I was always 'like a girl' as they said - polite, calm, getting good marks. I really liked maths and was good at it and didn't like sports, wasn't good at sports at all, and wasn't good at social skills neither, thus other boys bullied me and as girls laughed it only encouraged them to go further and further I thought I'll never have a girlfriend, I felt worthless and wanted to commit suicide. But now, the dream came through - I do have a loving girlfriend and I love her so much, sometimes I can't believe that, all those years are just as clear as it was yesterday, but it's a past now. I will just post my other comment here and then add a note to you personally. " Because for men in our species popularity with the opposite sex is determined by the number and/or quality of his partners. And the popularity of a woman is determined by her appearance. This is related to the fact that even an ugly guy can get laid a lot and even a hot guy can stay a virgin. And your popularity equals to your social status. We are very competitive animals and the different treatment is just part of how different our sexual strategies biologically. There is no conspiracy against men, lol. This is also the reason why most virgin guys, even those who are "ashamed" about their status, would rather stay virgins than hire a hooker and experience sex. They don't really give a fuck about sex, they care about their subjective social status in their own head and they wouldn't feel that they "won" by buying sex. " I at some became fed up with all this nonsense, about how our emotions work in a primitive way. So I just lost my virginity with a hooker, then slept with other two. After that it became much easier to find a girl to date. I learned that sex isn't such a big deal. But you can't stop putting it on the pedestal until you actually experience it by yourself. It is overrated and not worth suffering over not getting it. If you aren't skilled in sex it is also very possible that it wouldn't feel even as good as masturbation. There are a lot of things in life that are more meaningful and enjoyable, just do them.

I think you should word it differently. It takes courage (a manly feature which women also is able to have) to show and talk about feelings. Its part of the human condition and quite essential for a normal life to communicate your inner thoughts. I wouldnt say its the most manly thing for a guy to do, since manliness is somewhat subjective to the individual. Just take a look at women, what do they find manly and you will have widely different views of what a man is and how he should act, depending on where in the world you are.

If you have been a man than im sure you would know it builds up as you keep hiding your emotions than one day it's just too much and you let it all out from when you kept hiding it for even months or years or whatever. Something petty would be your brother wants to play the xbox after you have been on for 8 hours or some sh*t crying over a bad day and especially over a movie is not weak. Infact if you cry over a movie then atleast you have emotion and it's not sad or depressed crying. You don't need to 'man up' for such things. There are petty things though but not those things

14 year old girl here. I remember the first time I was sexually assaulted was in second grade. The second was in third grade. And the most recent time I was sexually harassed was by my mother's boyfriend. She went through hell when she was a child and ever since then I've been protective of her. I tried to scare away her boyfriends when I was younger but that didnt work. Then he came along. Hes still with her though. I'll allow myself to be hurt if it makes her happy. Even if it means letting him stay in our lives and being silent. I've had a skewed vision of men ever since my classmate stripped my pants to my ankles and acted like nothing happened. I wear oversized shirts and baggy jeans to protect myself from my classmates and male teachers. I shouldn't have to. I wish yall didnt make this society the way it is. In my experience the only time men talked about sexual assault, rape, etc was when it happened to them. I dont think yall realize how many women stand with you and encourage you to be more human than man.

Letting criminal have a pass and in return destroying a good man's life because you were bitter about your past does not help too. Just because you love your mother you don't have to get raped by her boyfriend, what kind of love is this? And yes I am a man raised by a single mother too, my father passed away when I was child. My mother never bought a characterless man in house. This may sound too harsh, but I guess your mother dont have sense of character she always choose wrong, abusive, and characterless men to begin with. Ask your mother about her all relationships you will definately find similarly in choosing a partner.

It's hard man just find those who you trust you know sometimes a stranger on the internet can be good but just dont bottle it up I had someone I knew commit suicide recently and I don't want anyone to end up in that situation if in know them or not i mean it's just harder for us guys to talk about emotions anyway naturally but even if you dont realise it you have people who you can talk to just have to find the right ones

A guy should always have another male friend he trusts deeply to talk about his feelings and such since guys can relate to another guy better than females

Yeah, but usually males do not care about other males feelings because they can barely hold their own and cope with them. It's sad but true.

@antwinettec all my male "friends" ditched me, motherfuckers been studying with them since kindergarten. Men are as bad as women in some cases and this is one of the cases where they're the worst

4:35 I'm also a trans man and everyday i think im not man enough, no one will ever see me as a man, because even my own family members seem to not view me as one (even though they say they support me. Ive been emotionally abused by a very close friend/almost girlfriend and i dont even want to talk about it now

I’m also a trans man. You are man enough. If your family says their there for you and support you, I’m sure they do. Maybe they’re just getting used to it still. And what happened with your friend, it wasn’t your fault. And you are strong for getting past it

“The shame belongs to the abuser...” I like that line. It’s true but hard see when you’re on this side of the abuse/shame.
