The differences between men and women are remarkable, but they go much beyond the surface level assumptions that we all often make. Dr. Perreault takes her audience on a deep dive into the world of science and medicine, and discusses the vast differences in research between men and women. Dr. Melissa Perreault is a professor at the University of Guelph within the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Melissa’s current primary research has a specific interest in understanding the mechanistic processes underlying the cognitive impairments that are associated with depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Perreault is a citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario and serves on various institutional and non-institutional committees to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. In her talk, Melissa will be exploring sex and gender differences that are commonly found in mental health research. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Saying that all men (or all women) are one thing is a mistake. People are individuals.

I don't know, this book's not so faithful to the reality. They are discovering that lots of "warriors" and "hunters" were women. I'm rational, my boyfriend"s more sensitive.

Its very faithful to reality. Describing your specific does not nullify billions of people. You cannot use the specific to describe the general. And in every society "way" more men were hunters and warriors-that's a historical fact.
