This is still the fastest anchor leg race in 4x 100 meters. Carl Lewis ran 8,65 seconds the last 100 meters. He was so incredibly much faster than Linford christie. What a shame he was sick at the US trials for 100 meters and therefore could not race in Barcelona. He would have very easily beaten Linford Christie. Linford Christie knew this and therefore cowardly did not compete at the biggest event of the year after the Olympics. The 100 meter at The Wealt classe in Zürich. A race Carl Lewis easily won.

Juice was right about Carl Lewis, as far as when Carl gets the batton, he switches it and he said he is one of the few anchors that do that....what's Interesting, you have to really look to see him switch it. Love this race.

This is incredible, also point to note is the US problem of Baton passing existed during Carl Lewis' days not a current misfortune as i've been believing.

But regardless of one or two times back then, our Sprint team medal count (from 100 thru 400 x 2, with the women) was decisive back then. We'd bag 10 of the 18-20 sprint gold every time. We got TWO this time, with similar results going back to 2004. Something has changed.

Is that Dick Emberg calling that? He did a great job with it and loved his words, "What about the world record?"
