Some tribes are simply devoid of self-control. They possess a near-zero capacity for delaying gratification. They walk into a store and are unable to resist the temptation to shoplift. They are given specific commands by the poh-lis but don't have the wherewithal to comply. These are all caused by one thing and one thing only: an underdeveloped frontal lobe. Their abstract thinking and ability to weigh the consequences of their actions are very, very limited.

I was there. Gives me the chills to watch it again. Went to several track and field and running events because I was a long distance runner in high school at the time, I was just 15 years old. I have nostalgia for this time because I went to high school with kids from every background, financial level, every color - every race - every religion - and we were all friends. Carl Lewis was an icon and you've got to remember this was back in the mid-80s. There didn't seem to be much strife between black and white people back then. Seems like we're going backwards....in large part due to the "news" media brainwashing people.
@roboi22414 ай бұрын
There wouldn't be strife today if certain people in high places and their minions weren't stirring it up for their own ends, it's just about people becoming aware and not falling for the mischief mostly generated through media distortion. Psychologically people have resolved so much it's just the mischief makers cleverly pressing playing people off against each other all the time and people not being alert to it

Carl Lewis just has that freight train finish. The last 15 meters every race he looks bigger and faster, like a freight train on NOS. Always though Bolt filled out that frame with 💉💉💉. Never a guy before or since who could run like that at that height. I noticed that too. I'm not sure what the rule is. Are you OK as long as you don't step over the line (which he didn't) or is merely touching the line (which I think he did) enough to get you disqualified? Carl didn't interfere with another runner, but I'm not sure whether that's relevant. Does it make a difference whether it's the inside or outside line? If you cross the outside line, as Carl almost did, you're actually putting yourself at a disadvantage because you're increasing the distance you have to cover.
