But there are only two rounds. In Bronze medal round,the winner gets bronze medal while the other gets nothing. But in Gold medal round,the winner gets Gold medal while the other gets Silver Medal.

Bronze was 2-0 (two sprints) Gold was 2-1 (three sprints) In a 22 minute long video they didn't show the decisive sprint in the gold medal race and they didn't show the second (and most important really) sprint of the gold medal. They prefer to waste the viewers time

Il brivido dello sprint è sempre emozionante, ma su queste piste corte e senza rettilineo (complessivamente 250 mt) la velocità non ha più il fascino che aveva sulle piste da 400 mt, dove il rettilineo finale era decisivo e spesso dava luogo a spettacolari sorpassi. Su queste piste piccole e al coperto, pur trattandosi di gioielli architettonici, chi conquista la corda ai 250 mt ha praticamente già vinto perché il secondo non riuscirà mai a sorpassarlo in curva o nei brevissimi rettilinei!

This replay deserves a little more dislikes just because they didn't upload all the three Gold medal races, not to mention that they entirely skipped the bronze medal final race. The 2nd race is always the most exciting one and it certainly was for this event. I don't know why would they choose to skip it when, on the other hand, they can upload hours long replays of other sports.

The rider behind uses less energy, meaning if you go hard from the beginning the other rider will just sit behind you and overtake at the end since he has way more energy at that point.

@@magnus6398 Your point is absolutely correct when it comes to long rides like road races. but this has only 3 laps. Once the opponent take over its hard to catch him. So why dont they take some guts and try to finish it off quickly?

@@miyurumadhushka6131That's how Kenny won gold in Keirin, he sprinted early and had a big lead, nobody wanted to use up energy to catch him. Races like that are rare, since it is very difficult to ride your max pace for more than a minute, since they're basically going 70 kp/h when sprinting. At speeds like that, drag is a huge factor.

It's like a regular race. The only thing is that they go slow because if they sprint through the entire thing they'll get tired. You have to win twice, so if you spend too much energy on first win, then your opponent could just give up the win and beat you twice since he's not tired.

camart explained it in a nutshell. But if you want to be technical, there's this thing we call the flying 200m. Only the last 200m is timed so you have the first 800m to play some tactics like letting the opponent to tank the wind. Your 200m time will determine your seed in the qualifiers.

Whoever finishes first wins, but the guy who starts last has a huge advantage. Being in the air bubble saves tons of energy. So the first guy never races from the beginning. He would just tire out and the last guy would always win. They do tactical games. As long as they dont crash or stop they are allowed a lot of shenanigans.

He is not a track sprinter. Cav is the greatest road sprinter of all time but the track guys are a different beast. Cav can put out his peak 1600 Watts at the end of a 200km stage but does not have the 2500 Watts needed to be an elite track sprinter. On the flip side, these track sprinters would be crying home to their mum after a 200km stage through the French mountains. Different sports. Different abilities needed to be great.
