I used to be in a bad place with coke myself. It lead to me losing my mrs and access to my two sons. And the way Kirk talks about his addiction with pain and regret is exactly how i feel. I threw my life away and was powerless to stop myself. I sniffed about 5 grand over a few months ajd at one was boshing up lines in toys r us toilets whilst Xmas shopping with my ex and child. Things I will always regret. I’m clean now for a good few years but it still haunts me. And I still can’t see my boys. 😢. Anyone reading this who struggles like I did… just know it can get better. You can get clean. There’s always hope.

I remember Kirk on towie I used to think he was a player and so full of himself. This as really opened my eyes, what a nice genuine lad he really is. Looking at him, never would I think he's got anxiety or lived the way he did, not leaving his house getting off his head everyday. You just assume they are living the life of Riley, loving life but he really wasn't. He's a beautiful person and we'll done on getting sober and overcoming your addiction. What a bloke 💙

also go listen to someone with some clean time under his belt when i heard e was 36 days i nrly spat my food out, in recovery you need 6 months clean time to get voluntary work and 2 years clean time to give advice to addicts as someone who worked in rehabs and got headhunted to work in other rehabs i see Dapper laughs having a relapse in 0-18 months then taking it seriously.

Yeah my dad tried to kill himself when i was 12/13, he was on the phone to the samiritans saying hede wired himself up to the electric and was about to flick the switch, then he flicked the switch i heard screams then silence i thought he was dead, in the morning i ran out the house as i was too scared to go in the front room and see a dead body and i went to school and didn't tell a soul, worst day of my life.

Dapper, I've just got to say your podcast have come at the right time for me. I'm sober 70 days today. My low point I was 8 weeks sober and thought one beer would be okay within the hour. A 8th of gear was ordered, then 3 days in, and a 1000 pound down again laying in the bath and wanting too die that was my low point and know thing's had to change and today I've never felt happier I just want too say thinkyou

My Friend John meet Kirk at CA. He said he was a top lad. John is still fighting his demons unfortunately. Im in my 40s. My mother toke her own life, 10 years ago, I feel it made me stronger. This was refreshing to listen to. I got 19 months clean after over 24 years of using.... I went to NA & really felt good .... Even started to look good... Lol .. Sadly I relapsed... Even with the info I learnt and the tools I knew how to use, I ended up picking up.. telling myself.. it'll just be a one off.. That was early November 2019... It's now 2023 & I swear I don't know where the last 3 years gave gone!!! Addiction doesn't discriminate, it gets hold of you and it'll make u become someone you don't even recognize!! Well it did to me & continues to torture me daily now!!! I NEED TO GET CLEAN AGAIN... Yet I don't think I'm " fully ready" to try again! There's a HUGE part of me that really wants to be in recovery again yet the smallest part of me is fighting myself daily telling myself I'm not worth it! In my heart I know I am worth recovery yet my poxy BRAIN (MY ADDICT PART OF ME) is winning by telling me I'm not gonna ever get clean again! Listening to this gave me that light in my tunnel that has re ignited my HOPE...(Hold On Pain Ends)... THANKS GUYS .. Plus it's powerful to listen to 2 MEN discuss this issue as society needs more of this... Kirk keep going and Daniel I look forward to getting my first day clean again sometime soon so u being 36 days is FRICKING AMAZING.... ONE DAY AT A TIME PEOPLE 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Just think…. All that money u spend buying or you may aswell set alight too. I also used to use until my 32 year old friend who was a occasional user died of a heart attack during a sesh. U pay £50-60 for a high that lasts half hour or so. It’s such a waste to feel good for such a short amount of time. Then it rules your life. I got clean through rehab and after 6 weeks of feeling BAD! So bad I never wanted to touch it again, but just a few weeks of feeling crap then u have control of ur life back, ur not putting urself at risk of dying everytime u sniff, u will have so much more money, u will have ur own family if u haven’t got one, if u have u will loose them if u carry on and loose everything in life, all for some dirty powder cut with god knows wat and a half hour high. I’ve seen it ruin so many life’s and friends loose EVERYTHING including their life. U have to be mentally as strong as possible and WANT to do it otherwise u won’t get clean. There is so much help out there, pls reach out and get help, your life will improve SO MUCH and u will look better, be richer, and be a much nicer better person. Good luck with it all

I'm sat watching this while I'm typing I'm 40 minutes in, and the only reason I wanted to watch was because I've always liked Dan and kirk as people and thought they were fucking brilliant. As I said I'm 40 minutes in and I'm in tears as I now realise that I myself have an addiction because of my childhood and the shit I've been through. Reflection is a mad thing. The experiences of both Dan and kirk are very similar to what I've been doing for years now I'm 32 and this started when I was around 19. I'm so glad I watched this because it's giving me the wake up call I've needed, new years was when I made a promise to myself that I'm going to sort my life out this year and stop taking coke every weekend, I now realise I need to stop it full stop. So Dan and Kirk thank you so much for this awakening I owe you both massively 💙

I lost my brother when he was 27( 2 years ago ) and I was 24 I can say he most likely did that thinking he was doing g people a favour? no one cares about me? having these thoughts in his head that CATEGORICALLY weren’t true. I can’t even make sense of my brother having these thoughts to this day we was caught very off guard. My brothers funeral ( I even hate saying that ) was PACKED. Over 300 people there and he took his life feeling ALONE or hopeless It breaks my heart to think. You’re not alone. People DO care. YOU NEED to open UP and F off feeling a burden. We were best friends me and my big brother he was 3 years older than me. Me and him went to eachother over EVERYTHING. HE WAS BASICALLY SOUND HAD MY BACK. The last week of my brother life (first time I ever did this)he was pissing me off for a silly reason looking back but I was giving him tough love. He was going through a little bit of a stressful time in his personal life to do with his relationship I thought he would benefit from me giving him tough love and no one had a clue he was suicidal oh my god he weren’t depressed on anti depressant or any sort he was the life of the party the one always smiling the back bone of our family good looking lad decent car had a girlfriend good job he was basically the light of the party everyone loved him. it was unbelievably shocking THE ONE TIME I DID THIS WITH THE TOUGH LOVE HE DONE THAT. I can’t get over losing my brother best friend confidant but it was left on not a great note and that was unusual for us. I’m saying this because I’ve learnt from that mistake and I hope I can help people with this and hopefully people don’t judge me because it’s very hard to cope with and get on with. Don’t leave things on a bad note because omg 😢😢 the pain. I feel guilt over that every day. It’s honestly genuinely hard to cope with. So if you haven’t seen the video with paddy the baddy it will always stick in my head what he said at the end of one of his fight he says I had to attend one of my good friends funeral this week and he took his life basically if you feel this shit pick the phone up. He went on to say WHY DIDNT HE CALL ME AND SPEAK TO ME? I would have happily took a phone call THAN ATTEND HIS FUNERAL. So yeah if I can add anything to this raw, honest, respectable conversation it is that. I ask my self questions every day. And I have NO answers. Please speak up if you feel suicidal and alone. I miss you so much Ryan as does everyone else you’ll never walk alone ❤

Amazing!! I totally agree with Kirk…you’re either born an addict or not. After spending most of my teens and early 20’s taking ever drug under the sun, then reaching 27 and packing it all in because I just brought a house so I had something else to focus on with renovation. Then 4 years ago going out on work nights out found myself hitting the packet again, then it went to every weekend, sticking my tongue into the empty bag before the next one came…to now been 10 days sober after secretly drinking and hiding from my wife and kids for over a year everyday. That podcast hit home and let me peak through doors I’d firmly shut. We can all do it, we just need to believe and love the person we are without it. Can’t wait for the next one.

I just want to say to both of you thank you. The things both of you spoke about is identical to the unfortunate situation I find myself in. I’m 28 now and I realise it’s became a problem, affecting relationships with family, lost girlfriends, lost jobs, money issues. Being heavily depressed and having anxiety etc all because of that devils dandruff! I’m at the stage where I want to change my life; but it’s knowing how and getting the proper help that’s the hard part… So thanks to Kirk & Dapper for opening up and showing normal people that people like you guys also go through the same stuff. God, I completely identify with Kirk. I was a completely anti-social, reclusive drug taker. I would only use alone and play online Pool on Yahoo chat for hours until I ran out of gear. I convinced myself I didn’t have a problem because I wasn’t doing it every weekend or even every month but I would binge for a whole night a few times a year. My using got worse when my Dad died but one day I honestly felt as if I was going to die of a heart attack because I had such a massive binge. I decided then and there it had to stop. I was never in rehab or therapy - I just cut off everyone I knew who used or sold sniff. I knew I’d turned a corner when I found myself at a party where everyone was openly using and I was able to decline when offered. I was disgusted with how they were all acting and kept thinking ‘Is that how I looked on sniff?’. Since then, I don’t get triggered by seeing it or hearing about it any more. After using for around 15 years, I’m now 15 years completely clean and I want to tell anyone reading it CAN be done but you have to hit a wall first

I don't usually comment on videos but felt compelled to while watching this. I'm 29 minutes in and I have to admit that I had pre conceived ideas of both of these men that weren't particularly favourable. Ive got to say that it is very humbling to sit here and express gratitude at their openness and honesty. In AA we are taught to look for the similarities, not the differences and let me say now, I am more like these men than I am different judging by this half an hour. That 12th step is where it’s at. I have just had 13 months of sobriety but I gave it away free and willingly because my pride and ego came back. I’m sitting in a world of shame, self pity and I realise my higher power thought I needed to really admit defeat and surrender because I have no power over cocaine and all other mind altering substances. Honestly ADHD has a huge thing to answer for when it comes to drugs in males ( from my experience) nearly everyone I’ve spoken to who’s partner/brother/cousin who has ADHD has some kind of addiction problem whether it’s drugs/alcohol/gambling etc my partner has ADHD has a bad addiction to smoke. It’s something todo with the brain not realising enough is enough. And before too long it’s an addiction. With ADHD it’s all or nothing. And sadly that includes the bad things. Yes Dan quality mate. I’m 33 diagnosed with adhd last year and also a recovering coke addict. Just completed 3 months in rehab but still cross addict with other areas of my life. Been seeing a addiction psychologist and the correlation between adhd and addiction is crazy. I’ve learnt tons on it, be great to chat and share my experiences with you. Peace out.

I can’t actually believe how relatable this was… Thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of that and every single bit hit home. Kirk’s story is so emotional and inspiring & Dapper you got me shedding a tear with that final little speech at the end! 😢😅 I’ve been going through this recently. I’m on Day 11 sober now though and positive about the future! Phenomenal podcast.

I agree fully with the notion of being lost. Thats why I have used drugs and alcohol because Im bored, bored with people and with life, living without a purpose. Slowly working on myself on finding my purpose. And dealing with childhood trauma that has also caused my addiction. All the best😍 love your pod!!👏🏼

I'm not an addict and rarely drink but what a powerful podcast. Credit to the both of you for coming out of the other side after what you've been through and now helping others. Hats off to Kirk, what a great mindset to have. Life is wonderful. At times extremely hard and upsetting at times but it's all worth it and we all (myself included) need to remember to appreciate it more. Great podcast both, really enjoyed it. EDIT: Also, I want to say how refreshing it is to have two "celebrities" opening up so much. Being classed as a Z list celebrity is always seen as a negative but how many A listers would be so raw and willing to open up so much? Give me you guys any day of the week.

I lost my Dad around the same time as Kirk i understand that pain how difficult it is to pick your life to up after such trauma. Everytime i hear him speak about it i start sobbing. Massive respect for him turning his life around Hes taken a tragity and turned it into something amazing His dad would be smiling apon the man hes become. Well done Kirk.❤

I’m same age same manor more or less and involved in the same situation, I really needed a good ol’ couple of lemon squeezers to share this unfiltered story of the reality of addiction, it almost killed me last week ended up on Samaritans door step that’s how serious this demon can be, love to both of you for this and prayers to Kirk and his lovely Dad, we as young men have to share and keep the truth going to help others. I’m back on board and am now fighting my own, thanks!

Great show guys 3 years sober here from drink and coke , had a couple of blips along the way but now feeling stronger and more determined than ever . I was convinced that the only way I would ever stop doing coke was a heart attack and die , I just couldn’t stop however hard I tried . When my problem finally came to light ( I had known for a couple of years I had a serious problem but friend and family never knew how bad ) the best thing I could ever do was honest and open conversations like this , it helps so much , just talking about it and remembering all the selfish things I used to do makes each day easier , we are all capable of beating these diseases 💪👊

Me and my wife split 2 years ago. Even to this day I'm absolutely infatuated with her... but the booze and the coke killed us. Iv been up and down since splitting, but the last 6 months been working really hard to overcome my mental health. While watching her destrpy herself from a distance. I used to sniff a fat line with her and it always used to be sociable. It got to a stage where I was so fixated with my phone. Gambling, facebook, silly mobile games...I'd ignore my wife, my son, my animals. I look back and it breaks me....my only regret on life is that we couldn't beat it together 😢
