Good review! I've had my '99 model for 14 years now. Best bike I've ever owned, and I've had around a hundred!!

I had three bikes in mind when I wanted to buy one last month. The Bandit, the gsx600f and the fzs600. I'm glad that I bought the Fazer (2003) it's such a amazing bike!

I'm so glad you've uploaded this. Without Internet and YT I would never find out how my bike was reviewed when it premiered. :D Golden stuff.

I too have had many many bikes including a Hayabusa and I have gone back to a mk1 fazer 600. Seriously the only bike you will ever need on our stifled UK roads.👍👍

I've still got mine, the Frazer is an exceptional roadster, mines a 1999 model, covered 50k miles, replaced the clutch plates, cam chain only recently regular servicing on all bikes is a must, the headlamps are pants and anyone sitting on the pillion that's at least 6' foot tall will find it unbearable after a few hours riding. Great economy given expect 50 miles per gallon and the best part is she's got reasonable handling and unless you happen to be in a bit of a rush she's happy to rev very hard say 130 mph, and stable as a rock, at the end of the day she's a tiny engine with great performance, a bit long in the tooth now but take care to not ride her hard say after 30k..oh and them R1 brakes powerful enough to throw you over those narrow handle bars and don't trust the rear brake , keep an eye on that as the pistons tend to push out on an angle as the pads wear and pushing them back in CAN often offset the alignment meaning it will dig itself into its lining, which you really don't want as most Breakers have loads of used calipers which are knackered, and buying new ones will cost you over 400 odd quid

i tend to come here to see a real review and not a companys "review",real simple motorcycle, not a review about electronics and systems on a 180hp bike with 21" front wheel.I miss this days

For a mature rider the Fazer is the most "honest" motorcycle.

Still got my 98 model owned from new, sadly not been on the road for last 7 years shame really but if I sell it I won't get another bike

Why not fix it up and get it running again? Money or personal reasons?

Snap these up, reminds me of the old 2 strokes and you know what they're fetching these days, I own a 1999 fazer after owner everything from a virago to a aprillia mile and I'd take my fazer over any bike I've owned.riding solo through the twisties or with my wife on the back it does it all in comfort with balance, with a 0-60 in around 3.8 secs and 138mph as standard, imagine what a few gentle upgrades can do .

Just picked up a 99 FAzer 600, 17,000 miles (I know!) new tyres, needs a bit of TLC, £700 (mot till dec 16) got a job out of the blue and my zzr1100 blown its gearbox..only 34k (96, d4, not happy with kwakks reliability)..
