That is more or less where I started my railway career in Thingley Jn back in 2001. Prepping rail for First Engineering, they had this fancy bit of equipment to flash butt the rail into 600' strings. All the welds failed and they had to get a engineer out from Switzerland I believe. Turned out to be a coolant issue. Once that was sorted out, we loaded the rail onto the trains. We had two roadrailer operators, one looked like Rod Stewart who left to work on HS1 and the other went by the name 'fingers' as he only had a small finger and thumb on one hand.

Quite remarkable footage Mike, chasing the stone workings in Wiltshire, what could be better, the rambling mendip hills along with awesome 59's and a huge bonus with the regular RHTT workings. Really enjoyed this oh have subbed Daves channel, excellent! Cheers Nick.
