Mark I have to say that when I watch someone else after you, I'm bored. I love your humor and these vids are quite nice/helpful. You just helped me solve something I have been trying to figure out. I have a Bang and Olufsen that looks just like this and I need to get the stereo out but couldn't figure out how. It has to be the same way! Now I can refinish the rosewood!

My dear old auntie had one of these exact models back in the late 60's. I am very impressed with your restoration. Cheers

I really love and appreciate these kind of radios. My grandmother own one and I fell in love with it. I use to enjoy playing vinyl 33 on them and appreciate the sweet warm sound. I also enjoyed polishing it and making it shine with the wood shine finish. I own one today that I restored. Wish I had the time to sand it down and make it look nicer like your video 😀😀😀😀

Stereosound was my first stereo system purchased with the money from my Saturday job back in the 70s, £41.50 as I recall, took forever to save for!

Quite right about stripper. It's slightly stronger then water these days. Wood prep is a chore for sure.

Our family had the exact same stereogram. We inherited it in the mid 70s from a relative. She had handful of LPs to go with it, the most recent was an early Beatles record. And there were some other records that made a big thing about being stereophonic. In fact I think one of them was called "Stereophonic Sampler", and had some music selected to take advantage of the novelty of stereo speakers. From this I tend to think the stereogram dated from the mid 60s. The records were probably bought when it was new.

Once again a great video brings back memories. From memory I think sterosound was made by HMV

Just before I left school in 71 I had a part time weekend job at a TV/Electrical store as odd job boy (I got paid £1 a day). I remember helping deliver one of these style radiograms (A Ferguson model). The customer was so thrilled after we set it up and tested it out and declared she'd never had HiFi before. To which the engineer just coldly replied "Ferguson don't make HiFi", the look on her face and the disappointment she must have felt has stayed with me all these years. It seemed such a cold and insensitive thing to say about someone's pride and joy, hopefully one day she got her true HiFi.

You are right, paint stripper nowadays is not what it use to be, which is why I adopted the use of card scrappers, Which, once mastered, it is actually easier and faster than paint stripper and does not soften wood as the stripper would.

That looks very much like the HMV radiogram that my dad bought in the late sixties, 1968? I wonder if this one was manufactured under license?

Looks similar to an 1970s HMV Steromaster stereogram record player.

You can just buy dichloroethane and add it back into the stripper.

It looks like an old Phillips unit from the 1960s. They also produced an organ called the Phillicorda in the same design.
