I’m 54 and have been on estradiol gel for the last 3 years. I will not be without it and plan to be on HRT for the rest of my life. My grandmother lived to be 94 and died with her estrogen patch on. She fell many times and never broke a bone. Estrogen loss equals bone loss. I understand it isn’t for everyone, but the benefits to your heart, brain, bones, etc. are something we need.

I am just turned 58. And used to love red wine. I never drank more than 2 glasses. But I found in my 50’s red wine just didn’t sit well with me anymore. So I switch to white vine and I do like a few cocktails. But never more than 2 drinks and not even weekly. Thankfully I don’t have an issues there. But sugar and gluten. Ugh. Makes me feel so bad.

Incorporated yoga daily at 50 - reduced so much aching... Started HRT at 55 (game changer!!!) reduced alcohol ... to very rarely...reduced dramatically added sugar (feeling great and wanting it less)... prioritize my sleep...used to be anti-naps... but sometimes my body just needs it... regular strength and cardio (at a level that feels good... no more pushing myself beyond exhaustion).... listen to my needs... smart eating habits... enough protein and lots of good food regularly. Started daily Aveeno eczema baby lotion on my face after eczema on face showed up (tried many lotions... this one stops the itch, reduces and eliminates the red when used daily). And yes... have made menopause a conversation starter! Most important... doing what works for me.

Hi ladies 🤗I just turned 48 still have my cycles but about two years ago I noticed that sometimes during the day I get these anxiety and racing heart. Oh my gosh, thank you for sharing. I’m 46 and I noticed a few years ago, even if everything was fine, I’d get anxiety out of nowhere. Now it makes complete sense I had been experiencing several symptoms of menopause as early as my mid to late 30’s. I also just noticed that this year, in particular, I could not tolerate more than a small glass of wine without feeling flushed so I’m just not into it as much. Aaaaannnd, I noticed more laxity than usual under my chin 🙀😹. Finally just started my HRT and I’m 3 days in. Looking forward to taking care of me, finally.

I am 51, not sure if I am in perimenopause, probably I am, I started to use skin care regularly and much more than before. Also, I try to walk at least 2 hours a day, and exercise, eat a lot of fruits and veggies. But, I can't ditch sugar, I just love sweets, and I am having tough time ditching social media, mostly youtube. I am trying really hard not to watch news because they bring me down and make me more depressed and I can't really do anything to make things better. In basic, try to keep your body in good shape, use retinol, vitamin C serum and creams with peptides, and sleep as much as you can. Give yourself some "me time" every day. BTW, Tracy, you are very beautiful.

Wanted to mention that as I cultivate body awareness I’m noticing US restaurant food (excluding salads & Japanese) now gives me a mild headache/inflammation. Hi Tracy, I'm 75 and didn't stop my periods altogether until I was 57🙄....so, my view is definitely from the rear view window. The way, for my body, that I got through menopause is doing all kinds of exercise - love the endorphin release. I did Kathy Smith "Functionally Fit", which was a type of HIT way back in the 1990's, then found The FIRM in the 1990's, which is weights combined with cardio and I also swam laps in my pool for 20 minutes. As you can see, for my particular body and brain, exercise was and still is my best way to get through menopause and life in general. I found you, Tracy, about 5 years ago and have exercised with you a lot!❤

Same here! I was 57 but I thought it may have been because I had 7 children? The main symptoms I had the year before were vertigo & I had a gall bladder attack. I'd never had a problem with it before. I only weighed 47kgs so I really think my estrogen decline triggered it. I can also relate to dry, itchy skin & sore joints (particularly my shoulders)Six mths into menopause I started taking bio identical HRT. I got sick of the vertigo & lowered libido so I'm still taking it. I'm 63. What is the consensus about both HRT & bio? Tbh, I'd rather have my periods the rest of my life than this🙄

@@susanbajjada2960 I don't know what the consensus is these days but twenty or so years ago we were warned HRT could cause/contribute to breast cancer. I didn't do HRT but I did get breast cancer when I was 62. Who knows. I had three children who are now ages 53, 52 and 38. 15 year span between my oldest and youngest. 🙄 I got over menopause and, except for breast cancer and now that I'm 75, I'm really dealing with itchy, dry skin, and sore joints - arthritis in my fingers and toes. The best thing for me throughout menopause and to this very day is exercise. It takes SO much discipline but I'm glad when I stick to it. I couldn't agree more with you on the importance of prioritizing sleep and ensuring we get enough protein. I went to my PCP at the VA for HRT and she said no, no, no. Idc how bad your symptoms are..deal with it. It’s a part of life. I went to an OB/GYN outside of the VA and she immediately prescribed HRT. She apologized that I had to suffer for 2 years before getting the medical help I needed. I feel soooooo much better now. No more hot flashes! I live in Hawai’i, so having hot flashes on a tropical island where the temperature is rarely under 85 degrees was cruel and unusual punishment. Ladies, always get a second opinion. 👩🏽. I’m also 49 and still in perimenopause, I got on bio identical hormones almost a year ago and they are life changing! I will never not be on them. If you read any of Suzanne Somers books she was a pioneer for women for a very very long time about bios. It’s very disheartening for a lot of women like myself and you mentioned it as well that our doctors dismiss our symptoms and our feelings. I’ve even been told it’s all in my head and here take some antidepressants, absolutely ridiculous how the medical system dismisses women’s life passage this much. It’s not normal to just lose our hormones and to shrivel up and be invisible. We have options we have resources now and I personally refuse to go through what my mom went through with menopause. Ladies please speak with someone if you feel unwell and don’t ignore the symptoms. Also as someone with life long dry skin, this phase of life it’s even worse so my regimen is very serious in moisturizing from head to toe. I also mix retin A into my body lotion as it helps to firm my skin. Let’s keep sharing and helping each other 😊❤️🙏🏽

I walk about 7,000 steps a day. Sometimes not on a weight day. You can do it! I found that exercise was the key. My skin is great and I have energy. I am wishing you all the best. Hang in there.

Absolutely would love a video on HRT! I've been on the lowest possible dose since late 2020 and have never felt great. My Hashimoto's diagnosis around the same time complicated things. I kept thinking it was the thyroid but even with my thyroid levels stable I still don't feel fantastic. It has only recently come to my attention that maybe I need a higher dose of HRT.

Here are a few ideas: phone off by 830, take a relaxing bath or get into nice pj's, make your bed pretty, with great pillow, your lbedroom clutter free, nice diffuser with calming scent, soft lamp light, make a cup of tea that you really enjoy - peppermint, hibiscus, sleepy time, read quietly or somatic yoga in bed, foot massage with nice oils. If you can't fall asleep within 15 minutes after lights out- get up and go to a different room. Journal your worries, write positive affirmations and get ready for the next day(clothes, food, errands list)have a light snack of healthy fat (fat bomb etc.) Go back to bed and try again. I hope that this helps. Please seek help or tell a friend you're struggling with anxiety depression, it's a crazy time. Take 1 day at a time !❤ Big hug to you!

I was told because my mother had breast cancer it was a hard no. Then I switched to a 54 year old female GYN who was up to date on all things menopause. I’m 56 and have been in menopause for almost a year and half. I had to give up alcohol; it was wrecking my nervous system, giving me “hangziety” at 3am, and was raising my blood pressure. I used to love moscato and margaritas but came to the conclusion that booze just wasn’t worth it. Our culture glamorizes it way too much. Since quitting I’m sleeping like a baby, I’ve lost 8 lbs in 5 weeks, and my blood pressure is fine. I still intermittent fasting at least a few days a week, but that’s really just because I’m not a breakfast person, and if I get hungry in the morning, I eat a light breakfast. My hair, nails, and skin all changed. But we can get through it. Talking and normalizing it is so important. Menopause is different for every woman, but we all go through it, and that's a blessing. I think of it as part of being older and wiser. It just means we need to take extra self care, and reach out for medical help if we need it. ❤

Not genetic, well, not in that sense anyway. We have a family history of "female issues". I had stage 4 endometriosis and a very, very large fibroid. Loved your beautiful energy and positive outlook! You are so radiant and glowing! I want to share briefly how I feel about red wine. I loved having an occasional glass of red wine on the weekends. And then I then one day I noticed my skin wasn’t as vibrant or glowing. My energy levels went down. I was always tired and sleepy. Red wine was toxic to my body. There’s so much sugar in a glass of red wine which can age our skin prematurely. I stopped drinking red wine cold turkey after three years. It never dawned on me as red wine is supposed to be good for you but maybe once in a while and not often. I was listening to a ton of pod casts on skincare, wrinkles, HRT, estrogen Botox and fillers and came across this dermatologist Dr. Rajani. Well I binge watched his videos about skincare routine. He discussed what wine can do to our skin and organs if you drink it regularly. You can start to look wrinkled, dry and get bags and puffiness under your eyes, etc. Dr. Rajani showed data with graphs pointing out how our skin ages and looses collagen and elasticity especially when we reach perimenopause and menopause. Well that woke me up! I dumped my red wine after three years and have noticed I sleep better. I’ve always drank 3 liters of water daily and try to walk 10K steps daily. I take lots of vitamin supplements,B12, E,C, D, Tumeric,Calcium but I started taking collagen with peptides and added more vitamin supplements the doctor suggested. I now have more energy! I’m using retinol and vitamin c serum on my skin and my skin is plumper and glowing due to the collagen powder after only two weeks. There’s a noticeable difference in the way my skin looks and feels. I wish I had known about collagen and retinol years ago and I’m in my 50s! Ppl say I look 30s lol! Thanks for your videos!

Thyroid cancer runs in my family. My endocrynologist keep saying all is good when i'm falling apart! On top of it, I'm a breast cancer survivor, so my cancer treatment is an hormone blocker. So i truly wish i could take hormones therapy but i can't. I have the thyroid belly (or chemo belly). I've never been fat my entire life, as i've always been lean and fit and a lean machine, working out every day. I'm by nature a competitor / athlete. But my life has been turned upside down by menopause and now cancer. I'm trying so hard to get back to my healthy life! But the fatigue and joints / bones pain take over (it's a viscious circle!). I miss working out and I know i will get back to that! But right now I'm "obese" which is new to me! Never been fat my entire life! I'm sick of endocrinologist saying "you're fine"...

Hi Tracy, I’m 70 and have been on HRT for 20 years!!! I went off it 4 months ago because my (new) doctor said that that was too long to be on it. The risks of breast cancer, heart attack, stroke and blood clots were high. He suggested I go on a non hormonal treatment but it’s not working. He also said that menopause can last approximately 10 years for some (like me) and HRT only pauses the symptoms, which I didn’t know. So, now I’m back to square one!!! I’m absolutely beside myself with hot flashes every 20 minutes!!!! and mood swings. I can’t live like this, but I’m afraid to go back on HRT. So, I would love you to do a video on your research please. ❤️

There are so many things you could do naturally to minimize the symptoms of menopause through diet and lifestyle! I had breast cancer at 33 and went on hormonal blockers which completely put me to forced menopause at 33. The symptoms were so bad but then I learned diet and lifestyle impacted the symptoms including the weight loss. HRT does increase breast cancer along with other things you mentioned.

I'm so tired about this older women invisibility cliché! Women who have more than physical beauty to offer to the world never become invisible. Women who complain about becoming invisible with age should do a little introspection and maybe work on other inner qualities, skills etc.

Hi, I’m a new subscriber here, on point, red wine especially Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot gives me weird vibes including makes me awake the whole night and hot flashes, Pinot Noir works well for me and Sauvignon. Anyone here who have headaches once in awhile? My PC told me it’s a part of menopause.

Thanks for this. I wish I'd had this when I was going thru it let me tell you! I had excruciating migraines, never before menopause, but regularly during peri-and menopause. The doctor I went to just told me there was nothing he could do and gave me crap for not going to doctors much in the first place😂. It was bad and I just soldiered thru. I feel like if I had heard this or more about it before, I might have had a more positive experience. I'm so grateful that it is now being openly talked about. Thanks for sharing. Btw I had my three boys all after 40, my last at 45 so I feel a kinship with you😂

I'm perimenopausal at the moment. I've been very lucky so far. Only a few very short hot flashes. I can't wait until I don't have to worry about periods anymore.
