If you have an option of picking your gynecologist, I HIGHLY recommend finding a female doctor who is at an age where she herself is experiencing the same symptoms. This is the one area of medicine where you have the advantage of going through something that your medical provider is also experiencing. They are going to be more empathetic and likely to treat your symptoms and not the labs.

I'm glad you have found your happy place with HRT. Mine was different. When I was completely menopausal I was 51, and I did not know what hit me. I had panic attacks, pins and needles sensations and electric shocks 24/7 for 9 months. My FP had never seen this before. He sent me to every doctor for tests, finally a neurologists diagnosed me with nerve pain due to anxiety. They put me on anti depressant, which did not take the horrible symptoms away, so they had to put me on a anti anxiety med. My OBGYN is not a proponent for HRT. I saw another doctor at 58 who was. Then she retired. I had my 3 daughters by the time I was 26, so in my 40's I had a lot of energy and more of a libido than I had raising my girls. Had I known what I know about HRT now, I would have gotten on it sooner. There was a lot of fear monking about it that held me back. Message to you ladies don't wait!

Many doctors believe that it’s not too late to take bioidentical HRT, even after a long wait. Statistically, looking at the risks without HRT and with it, they say having the bio identical HRT is less risk for most women. I do not think that includes women who have a risk for cancer in their family.

Your videos are saving lives, if not only just physical then wholesome lives. I am going to be 38 in a few months and since around 2 years I noticed this shift that is '7 dwarfs of pre-menopause': I felt no energy whatsoever at times, at times I felt depressed (bla faze), at times I would go to my active, vivacious self, at time I would not sleep at night and so on. I felt like something is 'wrong' but only recently I saw your videos on peri-menopause and will check with my physician next week. My general check up was optimal aside from iron, but I still complained to the doctor that I do not feel my usual self. He said I am no longer 20 and should take some iron pills. I don't think my iron has anything to do with how I feel. My hormones were not checked, I will ask specifically to check them now even if I have to pay. My QUESTION would be: What should we change in our lifestyles if we chose HIT or are there any good natural replacements?

I am finally going to see a naturopathic in August and I am very much looking forward to it but of course it is not covered by insurance. I am looking forward to a day where insurance companies actually recognize the special challenges that women have an understand that they need to cover the resources that we need to deal with those challenges! Oral has a possibility long term turning into estrone…. I would totally suggest to try an injection of estradiol, a microdot patch or a daily gel and you will feel so amazing! I also like the mist called Evamist (spray it on like perfume) and it absorbs quick compared to gel! Also less chance of the liver breaking down your estrogen pill and I tried sublingual with estrogen pills it’s still not the same as a consistent (unique to your body) proper dose. There are also pellets that are fda approved which can combine after your testing the right pellet made exactly for you combining all the hormones in one implant. I also heard the IUD implant is the best for HRT you just purchase it and they install it in you and it lasts up to 3 years!!! And consistently balances you. So many options but I hear docs say vaginal implant is by far best for estrogen ❤

I always thought I'd stick to eating clean and exercising when menopause hit, but my symptoms were so bad, after about 18mnths I tried to go on HRT, but my Dr refused. I did alot of research and found a specialist clinic who put me on it. I've since followed up with my endocrinologist and she has kept me on the same meds. Definitely don't give up, find a Dr who will listen and support you. Quality of life is extremely important. I didn't know about testosterone for women tho, I'll definitely look in to this.

Great video and thank you so much for being open and sharing your journey with HRT. My question is, the Mayo Clinic recommends against taking DHEA, they say that the benefits outweigh the risk, what is your professional opinion on DHEA?

Unfortunately I cannot take HRT due to a family breast cancer history. I’m 53 and I haven’t had a menstrual cycle since December of 2017. Menopause hasn’t been too bad for me. Some hot flashes at night, mostly when I’m trying to sleep, but I also get stages of insomnia, maybe some weight gain around my mid-section, but I had to start strength training and up my step count to counteract the weight part. I have to stay vigilant with exercise, more so than when I was younger. I have to be more strict with my diet too.

My mother had estrogen positive breast cancer but my doc who is 56 herself and menopausal assured me since I was healthy and got an annual mammogram it was not an issue. I feel absolutely amazing and the quality of life is totally worth it. If you are otherwise healthy and suffering I’d find another doctor.

My questions: How can we find a good doctor who will help and NOT cost $1000+ for one visit? I don’t want to just look up some doctors in the yellow pages (haha I know they no longer exist), research and then pick one. I’ve done that before and it ended up costing A LOT of money and time due to the trial and error. I found more horrible doctors than good ones! Additionally, is there anything we CAN do to assist with the costs associated since they aren’t covered by insurance? It’s not right that women with money have the ability to get pristine health care while those with less money (not poverty, just middle class) can’t afford to support their health, hormones and over all well-being! And lastly, do fibroids cause any complications with HRT? And if so, what are our best options to heal them AND get our hormone levels back? I really approve the your channel and support! If I don’t find some help, I could end up homeless as this is affecting my work life tremendously and my ability to show up and do consistent, focused work like I used to be able to before all of this. I honestly feel like not only are my emotions and body off, but my brain seems dumber overall! I can’t keep going on like this! Please help 🙏🏽🫠

I'm on bio identical. I started at 55 after handling my symptoms the best I could with natural therapy. It has added so much to the quality of my life. I Did extensive research. It is very very different. The body recognizes it as identical to what it used to produce. Because of the way it is administered it does not get processed by the body in the same way. Here in Quebec after a huge push the government reviewed the data and recognized not only that the 2 were different, but that bio identical has protective properties for heart, bones, and other benefits. Quebec now covers BHRT. However there are many doctors and specialists who are still not informed (menopause is not part of the curriculum). So its often up to us to bring the info to them. I read a book from a gynaecologist who specializes on bio identical hormones, I watches many interviews, podcasts and when I got to my doctor I knew what to ask for. Women in there 70's are using BHRT and feeling huge benefits.

@@sylviesas2992I’m in Toronto and found a great bio identical hormone specialist. I would never ever take non bios! When I was young my body couldn’t handle birth control pills or even the synthetic thyroid meds. I’ve been on compounded thyroid meds that have both T3 and T4 and it works beautifully just like my bios as our body recognizes it as replacing something lost and not as foreign. I personally will be on them till I’m 94 because I refuse to go down without a fight. I look around at women in their 50’s, 60’s and I see their skin and hair and their lack of vitality which I witnessed in my own mother and I said no thank you to that suffering!

Thanks for the great content! I never even thought of going on HRT until reading the Suzanne Somers book " I am too young for this" anyways, she loved bioidentical hormones and so did all the docs she interviewed, what are your doctors thoughts? also, and I am experiencing this right now...HRT won't fully work if you have leaky gut! who knew? I did blood food sensitivity testing and found out that I had it and so I am currently fixing gut health but apparently that is a big menopausal issue. Did your docs check for that, I was amazed that I had an issue- been a health coach since '07 and paid a lot of attention to making sure I had all the prebiotic/ probiotic foods, but I guess it wasn't enough!

The hardest thing is to find a good doctor. My last visit to OBGyn was like she looked at my hormone levels and said "it's all fine, come next year" and I am 51 one and 90% in menopause (not a year without period yet so... who knows?). I am pretty sure I needed HRT back then but she didn't care. There were obvious signs of hormone inbalance, even dreaded vaginal atrophy (how scary!) but no therapy for me???? Because my estrogen is normal?

So I am one of the people who does not have insurance, but I have a direct primary care physician for me and my family (that is all we can afford). If I need a specialist, we have to pay out of pocket and frankly we live pay check to pay check right now. I am the LAST one taken care of due to finances and having 3 kids (orthodontist, eye, and regular appts). Questions - what are some natural ways to help with the symptoms of peri? Have you heard of Wild Yam Cream to help with symptoms? Any other natural (non medical) options we women can try like eating certain foods (I have heard papaya helps), removing certain cleaners/chemicals from our house, certain exercises that are best, etc? What is really going on during this time that there are some symptoms that are shared by all women and others are more or less severe? I know my mom barely talked to me about female development, but have there been any studies to show if the symptoms are worse now than they were - maybe due to stress, busy lives, bad eating? What research books would you recommend? Thank you!

Great video! I am almost 48 yrs old and a few years ago I had a SCAD heart attack. The doctor told me that my heart and arteries looked great and that it was just a tear caused by most likely a hormone imbalance. I have been having a lot of perimenopausal symptoms for years now and so I’m thinking that this could have been the cause of it. I’m wondering if HRT is something that doctors would suggest for someone who has had a heart attack, even if it wasn’t caused by the normal blocked arteries. I hope that all makes sense. Thanks so much for any info your doctor can give.

I was never put in HRT or not even a conversation about it. I am concerned about bone loss and how tired I am. Question:Should I have been put on HRT rt after my surgery? Also having both of these surgery’s make it that much harder? My general dr. Said I just need to hardly eat that was his answer. I am struggling with weight, tiredness, moods. I keep telling myself I am good… but I am not! I do have a endocrinologist I will make an appt with. Thanks again.
