Isn’t it fun being a woman !!!! I went into menopause at 55. Oh my gosh you do you . I worked so many years single mom never rested because I couldn’t. Went through a lot. Now retired and I do me I rest when I want I love being by myself and my singleness I go out if I want and I don’t want anyone telling me how to live my life . Be happy find your joy and do you ❤️Gratitude is everything

Thank you for being so open about the whole menopause thing, Debs! I'm a walking hormonal basket case🙄😢 I was late when I got my first period (15; it was the start of a horrific journey) and now I'm 55 and BOOM!! Just like that: since May this year in full force menopause! Hot flashes, mood swings in overdrive, aches and pains all over and in the blink of an eye (I kid you not!!) I GOT A JELLY BELLY!!😭😭 Look, I've never been slim; always had hips and boobs, but I could get away with it, because my belly and waist were in perfect shape. Well, not anymore...I'm a walking sausage! And my lovely hair has mood swings as well. I never had problems with it (thick curly hair with highlights), but now because of these shitty hormones it's always a 'thingy' to get myself presentable. Oh and I've totally lost my libido...dry as a cork (pardon my lingo!) and no passion whatsoever. I'm in complete hermit mode and hardly leave the house. And I only love my cat Norman ❤ He's my 'stable Mable' when I'm feeling extremely low and depressed. I miss my old flirtatious and passionate version though. Perhaps she pops back up when all this hormonal sh*t is over😅 You've got lovely dogs; such sweeties❤❤❤ How many cats do you have?

Oh Deb, everything you mentioned about menopause resonates with me. I’m 3 years post menopause and the hot flashes have gotten better, not gone but better. The mood changes and sadness is better but not gone. Do you find yourself really missing your mom in this stage of life? Ugh, that’s what’s getting me. I mean I miss her on a normal day but menopause has made it worse. I think of my children in their 20’s and I’m very conscious of my mortality and I think omg what would they do without me?? Then I go down that rabbit hole lol! Oh well, when all else fails I guess poor a glass of wine 🍷lol. Have a blessed day Deb! I love these menopause chats we are all in the same boat…. Aww it's real! All the same. If can be honest without sounding terrible, my mother was in a nursing home and basically all of my life was never satisfied lol. I'm more happy she's with everyone else. Love her and did my best but it was a burden. Oh my just thinking now if I had to go through work, elderly parents during menopause...I praise those who do!
