The way you spoke about the crisis team was really mature and self reflective. I’ve come to a similar realisation recently, when I was younger I wasted so much time slagging off and dismissing CAMHS and it’s only when I decided to actually accept and listen to the help I was being given (YEARS later in adult services) that anything has actually helped. Thanks for this video Marie! 💕

I had a weekend hospital admission at the start of the year, at the time I thought it was awful, and that it was the worst possible place for me to be, but looking back, those few days gave me a chance to get through my episode safely and meant that my family and younger siblings didn’t have to cope with me by themselves. It also really opened my eyes and gave me the strength and the push I needed to get myself sorted, and also fast tracked me to community services. I think short term for emergencies, hospitals can be the best place for you to be, but I don’t think long admissions are always massively helpful

Part 3 would be good. I'm also having trouble with the stereotypes of diagnoses people go with as it feels as if were being discriminated (If that's the right word) against and there's always more than one type of thing in one diagnoses as opposed to more obvious signs. So confused and frustrated :( I like your videos as it gets to the guts of mental health issues and problems of others seeing us different as learnt through media etc. Keep up the good work and keeping it real, to the point :) xx

The idea of mentally ill people being dangerous also comes from the fact that a lot of dangerous people are mentally ill... I did some work with felons, and from what I gathered nearly everybody in prison is dealing with trauma, addiction or some other illness. And it's really sad because a lot of them aren't given the opportunity to get help, they are labeled bad and thrown into a system that prevent them from healing and becoming good citizens. It was heartbreaking for me to talk to these people, because I was put into a psych ward to stop me from harming myself or others, but they are put into jail instead, in terrible living conditions. And I got released with help, they get released with more trauma and no support. Sure, mental health isn't an excuse for the terrible things that people do, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve a chance...

Long time watcher, first time commenting 🙈😅 I really like these MH assumption videos, going with that theme (kinda) you could do some videos reacting to the portrayal of mental health problems/eating disorders in movies and series - Skins, To The Bone, Feed, Girl Interrupted are some good ones to watch 😊 Also would love to see a video on splitting, its something that I struggle with a lot and feel like it's not very well understood by most people 😓 Maybe a more in depth video about DBT and the things you learnt from it and how it helped you, could be really helpful for some people as well x

Your awesome. I really appreciate you opening up on your MH. My parents don’t like me sharing much about how I’m doing with my MH on any social platforms. So, I’m very cautious about how I share. Also my mom, especially think I’m doing better and both my parents want me to do more. Yes, I want to do stuff but they think I’m better overall, which is not true. So that messes with me when I do have tough days. Sorry, I just went off and I hope it makes sense.

Idea? Video(s) about the different types of personality disorder as most people haven’t heard of any of them. E.g. histrionic/schizotypal/schizoid... most people have only heard of one or two of the 10. Just like information vids in case someone has been diagnosed (e.g. me w histrionic and schizoid) and never having heard of em. Just think it could be a great resource nd maybe do a mini series getting people who have those PDs input on them? Lots of luv

I experienced the same at the Olive Tree. I spoke with the pyschologist and another doctor, they said "thanks" then left the room. I didn't even know I'd been diagnosed with BPD until 10years later 👍. I found out last year, after being referred for secondary care.
