I love this movie too! My 9 year old is autistic and has extreme anxiety. This movie was a great way to visually see how anxiety does have a place in our lives and is a healthy emotion but we can’t let it overtake our joy or change our authentic selves. It pairs perfectly with things children learn in therapy.

Thank you for talking about an important topic. I appreciate you saying you aren't always consistent with therapy; I could say the same for me.

I loved the first Inside Out movie and I'm looking forward to seeing the new one. My sons are adults now, but I think the first movie helped kids to articulate what it is they're feeling - and it sounds like this one gives them more opportunities to express what it is they're feeling.

Bethany, why do you refuse to and completely ignore your children’s very apparent detrimental speech impediment?? You are doing such a disservice to these poor, beautiful children and it’s going to follow them for all of their lives. They cannot go through life not knowing how to pronounce an R properly, it’s just shameful. They are both way way too old to be speaking this way. Tragic!

Please try to remember that this is just a few minutes out of one day in a very long life. I'm sure she is doing her best and she may even already have methods/therapists/etc in place to help them. She hasn't spoken about it as far as I know, so we just don't know. Sometimes even with speech therapy, some people will never speak how you want them to. It's not a detriment, they will be just fine even if they experience challenges. Even though you may feel a need to help these kids, you are not required to know every detail of their life or really any of it. She is not beholden to give us any of us information, please respect that. From what I've seen, she is much better at respecting her own children's privacy than some other content creators and I admire that immensely.

Well, how do you know that she does that?

You have no idea what they're doing outside of videos. But also, R is a notoriously difficult sound to correct in speech therapy and if you don't have the muscle to curl your tongue, you can be 8 or older before you figure it out. I've seen Darcy read fluently and express herself clearly in the videos, I don't think there's a big developmental issue that's being ignored other than an extremely mild speech issue. that will likely self correct.

For you to assume you know anything about my children and the care they are getting with their pediatrician or support from their school system/teachers is pathetic. This channel is not here for you to attack my children or my parenting and it will not be tolerated. The only reason I am not blocking you now is so that I can respond and the village can also see this response. I hope that you are not as judgmental about the people in your life as you are with strangers. Good day.
