I've always been in awe with how graciously you handle literally anything that comes your way. I'm very lucky to have all my close friends and coworkers being like-minded, and even then antisemitism i deal with on a daily basis and struggle with the most being constantly stressed and anxious (even more than usual), so adding online hate to that would seem beyond hard. As a Jew, I haven’t been observant most of adult life, but since 7 October, I’ve found myself wanting to embrace my Jewishness and ceremony, and surround myself with Jewish friends and watch Jewish creators (how I found you). I think that people who get online and troll are simply projecting how ugly they feel inside themselves. I have three daughters around the same age as you and watching your channel has helped me to feel better at connecting with them in their adult lives. I have family in Israel. It's been so hard. I get small updates via email. I have two cousins fighting on the southern front of the conflict with the IDF. I haven't had any communication with them since everything has happened. Not knowing if my cousins are safe is so hard. All I can do is turn to the prayers in my siddur to help me get through this. I am just hoping that my cousins will return home safely to my family. My shul twice in two weeks has had banners supporting Israel and to bring home the hostages vandalized. They will replace the banners. The police are increasing patrols near all the shuls. We have a good security system in place in the condo building I live in with my mom. My Jewish neighbors I lean on along with my Rabbinical staff for support. They are always available to us to talk too. I am so grateful for my Rabbinical staff for all they have done for my congregation during this very difficult time.

I'm a non religious Jew and only my dad is Jewish and i get super upset when people (both Jewish and goy) say someone like me isn't (i look alot like my Jewish dad and my DNA test said i'm 50% lol). I absolutely refuse to erase my heritage, especially when I'm not religious at all. But at the end of the day, the Jewish people in my life see me as such and the people who actually care about me are all that matters.

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with the hate. If I could, I would erase heat from the equation of living, unfortunately… On another note, I used to work quality control in a company. We also had a list of words that we used to filter out things. Somebody was selling something in a particular color which was called Bastard Amber. Unfortunately the word bastard was filtered out and so the email not never got to the intended destination.

even if you'd rather do things differently, i think it's a good idea to keep as much of your personal life as you can with a channel like this private. i love seeing family channels and being able to watch the kids grow but there are dangerous people out there and the internet gives them more access to you than they would otherwise have. so it's a big consideration for anyone who has kids to carefully curate the content they put out! and I'm also sorry to hear that you have to deal with heightened antisemitism right now. it sounds like you know how to shut most of it out 👍🏾
