Hi Randy, I too am 62. I am stronger than I have ever been...but it takes a couple days to get over some times. I have been building a 20'x30' barn all by myself. I finished framing the roof yesterday. the whole barn is framed with old full 2x10" and 2x4" rough sawn lumber. no matter what I make for supper, it is really good. It has taken less than three weeks of good hard work to get to the roof. one thing I notice, being humble and grateful for my strength makes it even stronger. good coffee in morning and home made hard cider in the evening. I use anger for pain management. : )

Great advice! Strength training is the fountain of youth! I'm 67 and started lifting weights after retirement and feel so much better than when I was younger - physically, and mentally. Also started walking a few days a week. Huge help.

Blew my back out in April. Found out i have DDD. On top of that im waiting on hernia surgery. It has wiped out my spring walleye season. All i can do is lay around and wait watching time tick by. In only 54 and in great physical shape. Turns out I inherited the disease from my dad. Then I watched an updated video of little Rylie. Sonor Fishing’s daughter and i count my blessings. I think God even told me the walleye needed a season break from me. Getting old sucks.

I have been in and out of the gym since my late teens and like you said it really does make a difference! Now that I am 53 I do have some health issues but with staying active, walking and lifting weights at home has made a difference for me and this really keeps my type 2 in check along with eating clean and drinking water. I was told the same when I was younger that the activities that I did would catch up to me and to some degree they have but staying active does keep it at bay to a degree. Great topic and thanks Randy for everything that you provide to us!

I’m 60 and been carnivore for almost a year. Haven’t felt this good in years. All the ultra processed garbage sold in the grocery store is horrible for human consumption.

How can you select this ? This is what my brother blames his health on our mom and dad , he says all the time that mom and dad were not healthy so we are not going to be healthy , but I tell him over and over that’s not why we are not healthy , it’s cause of not eating healthy , not exercising and having bad habits like smoking cigarettes , my brother smoked cigars and he inhales em too ; Don’t blame it on mom and dad

60 this year and I lift 5 days per week and shoot for 2 grams of protein per lb of lean body mass. That’s a tough target to hit every day, but I usually get close. Makes a huge difference.

A lot of the aging process and how it affects each of us is tied to genetics. I workout, but not in the gym. I workout by staying busy. Fishing has improved my upper body strength and going to and walking all the paths I do to get to my fishing spots has kept me young. I do not look like I am 58, soon to be 59 years old. Randy is correct in that our mental state plays a big role in how we age. Am I in Olympic shape….nope! Don’t want to be. But I am active and plan to stay that way. My father-in-law who just turned 90 yesterday has a great saying…..Live long and finish strong! I follow that motto closely. Fishing keeps me strong physically, and being out in the fresh air and the outdoors keeps my fit mentally.

Curse that aging process!!! !@#$%! Man, I forgot my reading glasses one time and it was next to impossible after getting a snag tying another jig head back on the line 🤬 but other than that I'm doing pretty good (knock on wood) for being almost 63 and that's one of the things i like about fishing myself is that it challenges me physically (I'm a shore/bank fisherman) and I do a LOT of walking trying to find those hot spots lolol

Spot on Randy, I am having my left shoulder replaced next week. My daughter is a RN and got me into Infrared Sauna And Cold Plunge and I really love the way I feel afterwards. The cold plunge for 5 minutes takes you to another place. It really helps you mentally and physically...

A person can not completely rely on doctors and the healthcare industry. You must keep in touch with your own body and mind. Then, do research to find ways to heal your mind and body. No doctor or healthcare provider can know your body and mind as well as you can. I agree that you can use your mind powers to heal your body. Knowledge, focus, heal!

Yes sir. Doctors aren’t taught nutrition or very little. It’s all about putting people on medication. The pharmaceutical companies and food industry are not our friends.
