Mental game of competition, addiction if directed towards the wrong things, and replacing bad habits with good ones. Enjoyable to watch and listen to. Thanks.

Tyson Fury is surely the the go to example in terms of mental strength. Maybe he's lost some popularity recently with the failed Usyk fights, but when he fought Wilder, he changed peoples opinion of what was physically and mentally possible 😎

I like the trick of telling someone you're going to punch them in the balls a split second before you go to punch them in the balls, but then when they shoot their pelvis back and bring both hands down to block to nut punch, you grab the back of their head when it leans forward and pull it down into a headlock; or instead of a headlock you roll your fist over and bring the back of your elbow up to strike their nose. Never used it in a fight but it's worked every time in a playfight.

lol ive seen fighter pretend to get hurt and flinch too much to lure the enemy in and the ref stopped the fight cuz the pretend hurt was too good. If you train your flinch enough you CAN learn to point the strongest part of your forehead at a punch at the last second instead of it hitting your eyeball, and knowing this will make you even more calm and see even more fight-fate.

Hey Bas, any chance you knew Tommy Glanville, the kickboxer from Las Vegas? He once fought Bob Sapp in K-1. He trained at my Gold's gym and taught me and my bodybuilder friends the low kick at his fight gym once. He was close friends with Maurice Smith. He was the toughest bouncer in Vegas at one time. He's been dead almost 20 years now. You two could have had fun telling stories, if he were around today, I bet.

Bas, how do you cope with anxiety? I doubt you have issues with it, but just imagine the huge adrenaline rush you get in the middle of a street fight, the heart rate increase, sweat, panic, etc. BUT instead of a street fight it happens randomly, like when you're shopping for groceries or walking in the park. You don't know when so no prep.
@AliothAncalagon
@AliothAncalagon Жыл бұрын
I have my fair share of street fights and I find it difficult to really imagine it randomly coming out of nowhere in everyday situations. Being mentally focused and calm during an actual fight comes from competence and then the experience that you can rely on your competence. So I would guess that getting used to situations that cause anxiety would similarily help you acknowledging your underestimated competence in dealing with these situations. Slowly help yourself understand that you CAN deal with the stuff that causes anxiety. Step by step. That would be the best advice I could come up with.

1)Cold showers 2)Workout 3)Don't fear the panic, you won't die. Just do something, don't cry about it. That's how it works.

Watch enough Jordan Peterson and Dr K Healthy Gamer for some 102s on anxiety and how to deal with them. Some ideas to explore: write out your grievances and plan ahead; when anxiety creeps, try "deadass" sprinting for 100 seconds to release gross motor skill tension; when you're ready, just sit with your negative emotions, and let them course through you and out of you.

As a lot of the comments people sent you are retarded, I would suggest daily exercise to exhaust your body. Also, stop watching the NEWS & TV, social media! The stimulation and panic they put into our lives put us in panic mode. Eat healthy & stretch. If you exercise, eat healthy & stretch, you'll be more prepared for if something does happen. AND you will sleep better. A lot of panic comes from not being prepared properly. Bas has great Maui Thai videos on here. You've come to the right place, and the right community. Oh yes, form a good community and support system. And KNOW that God is on your side. If God is with you, who can be against?! Everything is in Gods providence! He is in total control of everything. Nothing is arbitrary or left to chance. The devil is only allowed to do whatever God lets him! Like a dog on a leash. GOD IS IN CHARGE, EVEN OVER THE ADVERSARY. Have faith! Trust. Give up your life to live. If you try to preserve your life, you will not have life.

The OCD story reminds me of my wife with her OCD , has to vacuum the rug every day to see the lines in the carpet, will never fill the tank up in her car just 20 bucks at a time , Learned to go with it. Think the OCD worked in his favor for his training thou ,besides he's probably one of those freaks that has the genetics to be a great fighter but the OCD made him train over and over till he got something right , that's what separates guys like him from the rest of us . Plus love the chess set in the beginning. have to find me that one so I can beat my grandson, just kidding I let him win most of the time.

It is not all in the mind, when you grunt there is diffrent pressure in the lungs and releases more power, like watch olympic games where they throw the spear etc. Go throw that javelin, maybe it will fix the arm. Take guiness 0% and buy me one too.

Its great, but theres a price, when you dont drink, ppl know you dont like it, they meet just to drink so you will be left out, its not like i miss drink parties but still, its something you have to think about if youre big on socialising , im not so thats fine but i do notice this.
