I very much enjoy the concept this artist was attempting to get across. It details the life of a creative idea, and it's eventual death in the mainstream. We see initially a cat, who meows. Simple enough, but all great ideas start with something simple. And as music oft goes, this simple idea becomes a more complex concept, the cat starts to meow to a beat. Making a sound that is rather enjoyable to the appetite of the ears. As I stated, this details the path to, and eventual death in mainstream, as shown by another cat, recreating the initial idea, in a manner that is almost indistinguishable from the first. This is where we see the domino effect start. One copies the first, and more copy the copy. Eventually you have an entire clowder of cats, all attempting to make it big by doing the same thing. But instead of boosting the popularity of each cat, the common idea that once was all too rare, only serves to diminish the value of the craft. Each cat is lost in the melodic song. Impossible to separate from the other voices. We then move to an innocent calico cat. Sitting in peace, attempting to be free of the mundane horrors of modern day life. However it sees it's life be invaded by the mainstream (as represented by the clowder). It's inescapable and maddening. We take these catchy songs with us to the grave, and to the unending tortures of the afterlife. What we once found to be enjoyable has become a chore, a never ending nightmare.This interminable fate that refuses to be stopped even whilst in the bony clutches of Hades himself. It's a cute cat though.
