Meow Wolf and Beach House team up to create the short film “Marin’s Dreams,” a coming of age story within Omega Mart’s narrative world. Original music and sound design by Beach House. Directed by West.
Marin Dram, granddaughter of recently missing Omega Mart CEO Walter Dram, has disappeared. But her dreams were left behind, revealing portals, aliens, and bisexual angst caught in a mirror beside her bed. Like many teenage girls, Marin has a difficult relationship with her overbearing mother Cecelia Dram, newly minted Dramcorp CEO. But unlike her mother, Marin has supernatural abilities - and they’re calling her. She just wanted to be normal, but normal was not an option.

@@vishalcain so me and my girlfriend thought it was just gonna be some bazaar art exhibit. Instead it was so much more. It's an ARG. Alternate Reality Game. So the more you search and explore, the more lore you find. We spent two and a half hours there at Omega Mart on Monday, and didn't feel like we found everything. Marin is one of the "Characters" in this ARG, and when you first see anything of her, is a missing persons poster in the desert. I don't wanna get to deep into it, it's something you'd have to experience yourself. But, it's worth the trip to Vegas

I just visited Omega Mart this weekend, and this so perfectly encapsulates the part that caught me completely off guard. I was just expecting a place with weird neon lights and silly fake products, but the story of this teenage girl and the loneliness girl being trapped in Forked Earth and unable to leave really hit me. One of my biggest gripes was how guilty I felt spending 20 minutes reading through her journal while people were waiting over my shoulder. I both wish there was less and wish there was more. It would be nice if I could have uploaded it to my Dramdrive to read through later.

I experienced the same thing. The thing about Omega Mart is with how much money it costs, and how much information there is to see- it’s all intentional. If you weren’t supposed to see it, then it wouldn’t be there. People who get upset about it taking a long time don’t get it, and need better patience. Next time you go and someone does that, you should talk about how cool all of it is and jokingly say “wow and I’m only on page 27 of 53?!”
