During the Soviet Union, Russia dominated us culturally and talented athletes were sent there, trained by russian trainers. Apparently, that's why Georgian athletes always lost. Main problem with Merab is that I think he's too tough for his own good, even in this fight he got hit a lot, even though umar doesn't have KO power. Still Merab is used to taking a lot of damage and winning anyway, I'm afraid he will have many health problems because of this.

Never liked Merab's style when he was fighting Jose or he seems like a bit of a lunatic running to beat up the nearest audience member that says the word "boo" in his vicinity. But I couldn't help but cheer loudly here. The disrespect people put on him and the bragging on Umar was more insulting than Joe Rogan calling a leg kick the second after the opponent does a 15 hit punch combo. And the taunting. Great, hilarious performance. Even still the cope from the Dag fan base and channels like Weasle claiming Umar was outclassing him is round one and two.... acting like Umar had some Anderson Silva/ Forrest Griffin performance but just got tired..... dude round one and 2 were some of the closest rounds in UFC history...Literally went to Umar because of 1 heavy punch and a takedown with no control or damage. Youre claiming no damage or control done in those rounds, but what was Merab doing in the later rounds? Shooting takedowns, not getting them and when he took Umar down, he didn't do nothing. He took him down for the sake of scoring: no attempts at submissions, no ground and pound. "Cope from dag fan base" lol Round 1 and 2 were NOT some of the closest in UFC history, you're just talking BS. Merab was on the backfoot for the majority of those rounds and was getting pieced up on the feet more than the challenger was.
