I enjoyed this, I've been unable to form a solid opinion on this fight and you brought up loads I hadn't noticed or considered! I'm interested in seeing how Umar contends with the raw physicality of Merab. Umar's best win is Sandhagen, who obviously isn't the most physically imposing. In a true MMA fight I think you can say that the stronger, fitter fighter (often coupled with a lack of respect for his opponent) wins a majority of the time. Last year we saw good examples of this with Belal vs Edwards and Dricus vs Izzy. Physicality just matters, I think it matters in this fight and in the Main Event. I'm intrigued to find out just how much.

Khabib and Javier would never ever ever ever ever ever ever let their fighters fight with a disadvantage. Dagestanis never take short notice fights...do you really think they would fight with injuries?....for the titles no less? They are completely fine, I think Umar is just pulling pre-built excuses so if he loses it won't look half as bad and if he wins he can say he still won with a bad arm. And Islam was already treated for his hand injury 2 months ago. Believe me brother, these Dagestanis protect their professional MMA records like their golden gooses, there is no way in hell or heaven they ever take a fight while injured.
