@@ricoricardo4850 But lots of war crimes still happened after WWII. Many leaders (some of whom were guilty of atrocities) from all over the world owned this car. There's lists of them online. I think that is what he is suggesting.. not that it was owned by National Socialist German leaders. Anyways during WWII the National Socialist leaders drove (or were drove around in) the Mercedes Benz 770 which was made from 1930 to 1943 so fitted that era.

Yes. They may have made this up to 81, but everything about this car was from the mid 60's practically unchanged. Exterior, interior, even the air vents. The only 80's era items on this car are the phones and the radios, which do not look period correct even if they were 80's factory installed. Very odd looking in that nice 60's interior environment, IMO.

That particular car seems to have been in service with the government for transporting VIPs. in that case the second mirror would be for the head of the protection detail. That would also explain the three handsets, of which only the middle one would have been an actual telephone the, other ones would have been an intercom and a handset for a radio to communicate with the escort vehicles in a motorcade.

I wish that those reviews would go beyond "fantastic", "royal car", "luxurious" etc. Try to analyze more specific details and philosophy behind. For instance, the little xtra sidewindows in the back, who prevents to violent an airflow in the cabin or the fact, that the window lists at the back window, actually prevents rain from falling on the window at a certain speed. And overall the overengineering and solidity of the construction. About the "clunky" gearbox: It is from the good mechanical days, where you actually can feel the gearbox and interact with it. When you feel the shift coming, take a little of the gas, and it will "help". When you press it, it shifts harder, but a little softer, when warmed up. Actually it feels much better and "alive" than those electronic shifters today, where you can feel nothing.
