My Grandfather drove new Mercedes in 1965 , 1967, and 1983. I have so many memories of those cars. I got to drive the 67 220 more than once! Thanks Grampa!!

Absolutely amazing, top class and worthwhile restoration. Although rated 'good condition' as found - everything had to be renewed and re-done - the only way to go.

A high point for Mercedes for sure. And nothing like it will ever be made again.

I was blessed as a child in West London, because not only was my Dad a master mechanic & had me by his side helping, but there was a 3 year period that he took @Mercedes in Brentford.. It was to deliver all varied model back to customers when work was completed. Now that was mid 60's. One thing they allowed him to take home tonight (tomorrow's delivery & vice versa) son on average we'd have 1/2 beautiful classics outside. The other dream was he'd often take me on the run & hide me around a corner until delivered. It was in the days where morals & respect was great btw. Anyway's SL's inc a 300, Pullmen (quite often). Just everything was unforgettable experiences. Thanks Dad x

this is just a beautiful car. My family had 200 Benz in 1975 & the exterior color was acrylic maroon with a wrap around chrome bumper, the interior leather seats were dark red maroon. It was just a classic car. Of course it could not compare to this 600 Benz. The 600 Benz was the ultimate luxury car at that time.

Why don't they make limousines like these anymore? The super stretch limos of today have no class, whatsoever.

Quality quality quality this is what you use to pay for with a Mercedes that use to rival rolls Royce. Now Mercedes is plastic crap. Rolls uses quality still not Mercedes.

Agreed, If I was given a brand new Mercedes for free, I would immediately exchange for cash. From an elite, classy and superbly engineered marque to a 'nothing burger' today.

Jeremy Clarkson had/has used one. So what. Even I can by used one. Britts have lost their touch.
@BPoweredLove3 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to understand your last two sentences. "Even you" means what? I mean, anyone with the amount of money needed to buy one... can buy one. As for Jeremy owning one, I am not sure why that doesn't sit well with you. And finally what does "Brits have lost their touch" mean on this topic? I'm just curious. :-)
