K9K is a great engine it's capable of really high mileage given decent maintenance.

My a class with this engine is at 187000. Still going great. Cheap to run, cheap to insure and £20 road tax. It's a winner all round. Had 14 mercs over the last 30 years. All had major issues except this one

My girlfriend has a Nissan Juke with this engine... i have today invested in the Launch dpf spray gun etc... YOU sold me them after seeing your video at the show with the young fella, the spraygun was always out of stock, but i checked today... bingo!

Did you try a forced regen with a diagnostic tool? Add some diesel additive helps clean it out

@@DarrenUren7 I've just bought the kit "in case", I've bought a transit custom 2.2 as a camper, had my local mobile mechanic scan it, 76% soot so it's always on my mind... my daughter previously spent money having oil dilution and warning lights resolved, with a new vaporizer, I'm not being caught out, hopefully an investment

A good motorway run at high rpm sometimes sorts it out about 1 hour at 65mph at high rpm

Key is to not let it idle to long diesel got to be driven. I add diesel additive every tank as helps clean it out. In the end diesel is nasty stuff and dirty but I tried electric gave up so now I'm a diesel ambassador. I hope it all works out for you

How did the dealership miss that broken pipe 😮, there was soot on the heat shield which was clearly evident as soon as you look under the bonnet. I'd be really annoyed with the garage, especially as it took 3 months for a fault still present.
