Clear concise thank you, but if the pump is low, how would you refill???
@TopHydraulics3 жыл бұрын
You can fill the pump with a syringe through the fill port on the reservoir. If the fluid level is low, then you obviously have a leak somewhere. You will need to find the source of the leak and take care of it...

I prefer to test for power using a test lamp. A headlamp bulb is ideal for stress testing the supply. I've been caught on many occasions when a meter shows power but the supply is high resistance and disappears when a load is applied. Take car as the bulb can get hot enough to damage trim, keep it well clear or put a cage around it.

Hi thank you so much for the information klaus. I’ have just done that test and have power both sides of fuse so not sure what to check next? No fault codes either! If I double click the roof button either way the windows will go up or down but no pump noise can be heard!!! Please help
@TopHydraulics Жыл бұрын
The next step would be checking the two yellow relays on the pump. Swap each other’s positions and try again. Both relays must be installed, but you put relay 1 in position 2 and relay 2 in position 1. If the top starts working after this, then you know you had one bad relay.
@demetriosprokopi5443 Жыл бұрын
Thank you sir, I have also changed the 2 relays for brand new ones and zero difference! Do you think it could be a module or still maybe the pump ? I wish you lived closer I would hire you to fix this without doubt!

Hello there, thanks for your clear video. I used a tester to check the fuse, I get 12V on both terminals. So the fuse is good. Could be the problem due to the pump of to some other element? for example relay? I indeed listen something is trigging when I try to open or close the roof, the roof doesn't move, but all windows yes.. In case it could be the pump, do you still sale it?
@TopHydraulics8 ай бұрын
If you get the message "roof in operation" when you push the button, you have power on both sides of the fuse and nothing moves, then it is almost sure that you have either a bad relay or a bad pump. Yes, we have the pumps in stock, see tophydraulics.com/24-w209-clk

Thanks for contacting me via email, as well, and congrats on being persistent! This sounds like a bad pump motor. Before we condemn the pump, you could make one more experiment: 1) Take out one of the yellow relays, leave the other one in place. 2) Identify pins 30 and 87 on the relay you took out and find the matching lugs in the relay socket that you pulled the relay out of. Verify that there is voltage on one of the pins 30 or 87. Using ideally 14-gauge wire (1.6mm diameter), or at the very least 18 gauge (1mm diameter), bridge pins/lugs 30 and 87 in the relay pigtail. This should make the pump motor run. If it doesn't run, then it must be bad. We offer the pump and we have it in stock. Here it is on our website: tophydraulics.com/w209-clk/164-4672-w209-hydraulic-pump.html#/30-core_exchange-send_your_parts_to_top_hydraulics_first/98-model_year-2003_2006

@@TopHydraulics thank you so much for replying me, both via email and here on KZbin. I appreciate you :) - I am grateful for your kind response. Following to your technical response, I have to check the relè asap. I tried yesterday, but it is rather difficult to extract the relay from the socket, I have to disassemble other parts around it in order to manage and test the relay. You know ;) - If I don't mistake the relays which you are talking about are those yellow ones attached to the pump structure. Other smaller yellow relays I also see on the fuses board next to the pump. Thank you again. Lets keep in touch, I am going to update you asap. :)

@@robertotola5937 The pump relays are the yellow ones attached to the pump structure. There is one bolt holding the pump in place. After removing that bolt, you should be able to pull the relays.

What is the part # for the 40amp fuse or link to buy from your site? Thanks
@TopHydraulics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, we don’t sell fuses. The fuse is a 40A MIDI fuse - best Google it and use an online seller such as Amazon. If you have a blown fuse, then the pump is bad. We are happy to add the fuse free of charge to your shipment in case you order a pump refund from us. Simply leave a comment when you place the order.

Could it be something other than that fuse causing it not to work at all? Like a relay? If so, do you know where the relay is located? Thanks

There are two yellow relays in the pump's wiring harness, next to the pump motor.

Do you have any videos regarding the horizontal style pump? Such as fuse and relay locations? E Class 2011
@TopHydraulics4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, we have not worked on an E-Class ourselves, only rebuilt lots of cylinders and pumps for it. The horizontal pump in the E-Class does not seem to have the relays next to the pump, but they cannot be far away. I cannot find the relay or fuse location in the diagrams available to me through mbepc.net. I see that the harness supplying power to the pump motor and to the three solenoids runs under the pump towards the front and it must terminate either in in the top control module itself or first go through a couple of relays. Some newer cars have the relays built directly into the controller, which would be a shame. The top control module is forward of the pump, next to some other control modules. You may want to follow that harness from under the pump and see where it goes. This particular harness has some black mesh around it.
