Mercedes Benz GL450 ML350 R350 2009-2012 X164 W164 no crank no start. You do have drive authorization meaning all the red and yellow dash lights come on when you turn the key to position two in the ignition switch. If you unplug the main battery or the ignition switch for a few minutes and reconnect it, it will crank and start. This usually happens in cold weather or after sitting overnight. This is sometimes accompanied by a battery drain. If you have the message "Drive to Workshop without shifting gears." The engine will run but the transmission will not shift into gear.
You may get error messages on the instrument cluster / dashboard, ESP, SRS, ABS, Airmatic, Drive to workshop without shifting gears. This is not an ISM/DSM issue. It's caused by a faulty Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS). This faulty EIS is only for model years 2009-2012. This is caused by a over voltage of the CAN BUS inside the EIS.
If you get no reaction when you insert the key into the ignition switch, no red and yellow dash lights, you have a different issue. Watch this video for that issue.

2007 GL450 Im getting all dash lights no crank and cant get vehicle out of park. Noticed that when I remove the button the key will not turn at all but when I try to crank from the button I will hear a click from starter…

Ok. Have you checked your battery voltage? It should be 12.5 volts. IF that click you hear is in fact your starter solenoid. My guess is you either have a bad starter or low battery voltage. And a key that only has RF function no IR function. It unlocks the doors, but won't start the engine if you insert the the key into the EIS and turn it to the crank position. Check your battery voltage first. Check your starter next. If you need a key we can program a non-keyless Go key for you. Give us a call. Do you know if this will work on 2013 c250? Dash lights on, but then go dark when start button is pressed. Had to get it towed. AAA tech (in field) said it's a computer issue.

It may be an ECM (Engine Computer Module) issue. It’s pretty common for the ECM to fail in the C250. It’s always best to start with making sure the main battery has good voltage. 12.3-12.6 volts is a normal range. I have a video on how to check if your ecm is bad. This video is longer than what the repair takes, open the eis and there is broken solder joints, solder them back amd good to go, job took less than five minutes.....

No, this is not the solder joint connector issue. When you have the IR connector with bad solder joints issue, you don't get red and yellow dash lights when you turn the key to position two. You don't get any reaction on key insertion. With this issue you do get red and yellow dash lights but still a no crank no start. Completely different issue. 818.510.3375 mercedesbenzspecialist.net/

Not the same issue. I have exact symptoms he's describing in this video, but my white connector is ok.
